Most house sample packs are either just pure shit or sound like plastic modern tech house, and all the "garage" sample packs are usually just 2 step sample packs which sounds too "tinny" for 4/4 beats. (obviously speaking about drums here)
It's so hard to find decent samples that sound "meaty" enough without sounding too modern, if that makes any sense.

Anyway, all art from the ghetto all has the everyday struggle of the artist ingrained - whether it be hip hop, reggae, favela funk, ghettotech, whatever. As an artist you are influenced by your surroundings, and the pioneers of each of those genres had one surrounding in common: poverty.
It makes me sick when people have the mentality that ghetto music doesn't have the same value as whatever imitation it spawned. However, I really can't get too upset since that way of thinking mostly just has to do with ignorance. Often times, the same people who say that shit will tell you in the same breath how legendary and amazing Drexciya and UR are.
