What's interesting about Clipping for me is that as a rapper Daveed Diggs would work perfectly in a mainstream rap song. He would sound good behind a typical hip hop beat. That's not to say he's bad, becausede he definitely isn't, and in no way does he sound out of place. That's why I like them personally.

I got this on tape when I saw him a coue months ago, it's p great.
The PA was fucked during his set so he ended up performing most of it a cappella and screaming his lungs out. I saw a few kids leaving it tears. Definitely one of the most intense and sincere performances I've ever seen.

there's an entire archive of memphis rappers assembled on mu, too many for any list to do justice, and I never "refused" to list any. Koopsta Knicca, Lo Key, 196 Clique, and Truma Center Killaz are all great and there are loads more. DJ Sound and DJ Livewire comps are excellent as well.
Spark is Jordanian, LUM is whote and it doesn't matter, neither is a "parody" of anything, and LUM hasn't made music that takes heavy influence from Memphis in 3 years.

I've also been told Captain Murphy/FlyLo and Earl use different time signatures but have not seen any examples so idk. Nobodies really explored the possibility of this genre but it seems like it would work.

rodan - flight lessons ep (pretty offbeat flow and very smart wordplay, relatively conventional 90s NY production)
atoms senpai - the prequel (some were featured on the first cannibal ox album, similar raps and production)
I don't know why Shabazz Palaces never gets mentioned in these threads so here it is. They are one of the best guys who do that shit, not even comparable to soundcloud-tier shit that's flooded everything recently.
