ITT: artists with mostly good records and one record that we can all agree is trash
ill start
fuck off pleb i bet graduation is your favorite album
>>63407458
808's isn't trash at all. It's one of his best albums actually. The only people who hate it are plebs.
weezer - make believe
>>63407458
itt artists wit mostly shit records and 1 record dat we can all agree is good
ftfy
>>63407488
They had 2 good records.
not trash but their worst effort
>>63407488
Raditude??
>>63407718
>10 point gryffindor
this is correct good sir
>>63407458
808s is one of his best. WTT was his worst desu
>>63407746
Do collabs really count? Technically that outfit is called The Throne, not Kanye West.
>>63407683
Actually, yeah.
>>63407488
I'll go ahead and say it: Make Believe isn't that bad. It's not great, but it's nowhere near as bad as Raditude or Hurley. Honestly, I think it's perfectly on par with the green album, just behind Malidroit.
>>63407815
I'd say so imo. It is considered one of his main albums.
>>63407458
this is top tier bait. hook, line, and sinker, well done.
>>63407623
NASTY NAS
the esco to ESCOBAR
nasty is nasTRADAMUS
>>63407930
thanks
>>63407458
If you dislike 808s, you just haven't went through girl issues
>>63407996
He went from Nasty Nas to Esco's Trash
Had a spark when he started but now he's just garbage
>>63407458
Good artist pick, wrong album. In spite of its ambition, Yeezus was pretty garbage. The best thing about it is that you can tell that Kanye tried to be spontaneous and experimental. Tried, anyways.
>>63407458
pretty sure you meant to post Graduation
808s is his best album and people are still biting it to this day.
>>63407584
They're S/T is my least favorite, but hey, apparently people can have opinions other than mine
>>63408986
who?
like thugger and that kinda shit?
>contrarian the thread
>One record we can agree is trash
Kanye has 2 shit albums though, Yeezus and TLOP. 808's is alright, no need for all the hate but gets way to much love as well
Don't know how much /mu/ cares for Cranes but they've got 6 great albums and Population 4.
>>63409088
>1 good album
>1 bad album
>1 terrible piece of shittrash
>1st actual one of thread
>>63407482
>first half of album was Amazing (pun intended)
>second half was garbage
I like the album but I hardly ever go all the way through when I listen to it
>>63409181
Are you suggesting that "Tonight" wasn't shit?
I like RDJ and Come To Daddy more.
>>63409596
>coldest winter
>pinocchio's story
>garbage
are you serious?
>>63409743
Stills makes 4 out of 12 tracks trash homeboy, all in close proximity to each other too
And that's assuming they aren't absolute garbage. Which, if they arent, makes them average at best
>>63409596
the second half was the part you didnt like?
opinion discarded
One decent song and 11 shitty songs is a shit album imho
>>63407488
>weezer
>mostly good records
This whole album is like the soundtrack to a gay porno
most of Queen's stuff in the 80s wasn't very good but it was passable, but this one is just garbage
>>63409743
I'm an 808'sfag but Pinocchio Story never should've been on the album. That shit wears out its welcome by the third listen.
>>63410307
>not enjoying kanye's rawest track to date
>>63410332
That raw vulnerability is really all it has going for it. It's kind of an uneven song outside of the sheer feelings he's conveying and on top of that the audience shrieks are occasionally kind of annoying. But yeah, I guess it's fine if rawness is all one cares about.
>>63407458
Yea i'm pretty sure the majority of Kanye west music is trash
>>63409743
the whole thing is garbage wtf
>>63410465
How so?
>>63410488
Lel for real? Sounds like he ripped a bunch of Tears for Fears and other 80s synthpop throwaways, added his shit autotune vocals and threw in some cheesy ass strings. It's like the equivalent to a cheesy 80s flick. It's pretty laughable
>>63410635
lmao
>>63409181
was my first thought
>>63409631
i like a handful of songs on this, loving the alien was great
>>63407584
what the fuck this is far better than s/t. Get Innocuous, North American Scum, Someone Great, All My Friends, and New York are fucking great tracks. Sure the other 4 tracks are meh but those right there are 5 of their top 10 songs ever.
Way better than >dude double album lmao s/t
It's close to this is happening, which has a killer second half but the first half is kind of bad except for Dance Yrself Clean
>>63410635
A lot of the things you find "laughable" about it I actually like. Yeah, he sampled Tears for Fears on the album but honestly, I'd rather have a minimalist synthpop record over a hip-hop one. I simply like that kind of thing more. And while I'd normally be against autotune, on 808's specifically it works pretty well with the album's cold and distant atmosphere. The sparse drum patterns and dramatic strings only help drive that aesthetic home. I would go so far as to call the album his most focused and consistent to date. If there's anything about 808's that bothers me it's probably that Kanye's as lyrically hit or miss as ever, but that's nothing new for the guy before or after the matter.
