>Very nice. Have you already tried Agalloch's The Serpent and the sphere?
No I have not. I'm trying it now. Thanks. I have however listened to From Which Of This Oak, The Mantle and Ashes Against The Grain. Enjoyed them, but nothing special. I can see the appeal, but Opeth and Ulver did it better.

When it comes to Opeth they're really special to me because I've been listening to them for nine years and they have been the only constant in my library while I explored other genres.

You seem to like interesting music, so maybe you'll enjoy these:
Khánh Ly & Trịnh Công Sơn – Sơn Ca 7

Mal Waldron Trio – Free At Last
Keith Jarrett – Changeless

They got two albums, this is the second one. It's warmer, deeper and more melodic than the debut, in my opinion better. Easily some of the best techno released in recent years.

Sounds good. They're all EAI essentials and should function as a good introduction to the genre, did for me at least.

Elliott Smith starts out with stripped down singer/songwriter and with every album moves closer to indie rock with a full band and creative arrangements. Check him out if you like Sufjan and want more of the same amazing songwriting with complex, emotional lyricism.

SS rips him off on the reg by the way so if you like Sufjan you should definitely like Elliott
>>
>>63389655
I see you've got Post/Homogenic/Vespertine in your chart but have you listened to Medulla? It's the most overlooked album in her discography imo. I expected a bunch of dry acapellas but it's so much more. She keeps the same songwriting and just replaces 90 percent of the production with ethereal choirs and beatboxing and Mike Patton's grunts. Plus she adds in some more unconventional/experimental tracks like Submarine and Ancestors if that's your thing. Highly recommended.

the game is fine its just really short and most certainly not worth the 20 bucks or whatever it costs. if you can get it on a sale for 5 or less or pirate it go for it. plus the soundtrack is just amazing

Do you like Talk Talk? Everyone recs Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, but you might like The Colour of Spring more.

>>63392831
You like Wire? Maybe Joy Division's "Warsaw" album?

I enjoyed Spirit of Eden but I haven't listened to any other of their works. What's Colour of Spring like? More post-rock esque music?

Art Pepper

Gerry Mulligan

Ash Ra Tempel

Hans-Joachim Roedelius

Spirit of Eden is my favorite of theirs, it's very serene and meditative. Colour of Spring is their least post-rock album of the three, much more upbeat.

Try XO if you want something with more going on than just acoustic/drums or his self-titled if you want it sadder and angrier and about heroin

These are probably my favorites off of those two.

XO somehow gets underrated even by ES fans. It has an explosive dynamic to a lot of the songs that are almost completely absent off his other albums

It was my least favorite for a while because it seemed to me to be kind of the unsatisfying middle ground between Either/Or and Figure 8 but I'm really coming around to it now.

>It has an explosive dynamic to a lot of the songs that are almost completely absent off his other albums

That's exactly it. Even the more acoustic songs like Everybody Cares, Everybody Understands feel like they have a lot more energy and emotion than a lot of his other songs. And it doesn't compromise the lyricism, which Figure 8 feels like it does a lot of the time. I'm glad I gave it another chance.

Damn, I'm getting mixed feelings. Some tracks are stellar while others are just doing nothing for me Appreciate the recs tho

Yeah, I feel you. The only ones I'm very much in love with off Colour of Spring are the first and last songs.
