I'm planning to go to a Death Grips concert as soon as they announce new tour dates, they usually come to my area (Philadelphia btw). Has anyone on /mu/ been to a DG Concert. If so what is it like? Should i wear padding?

it was actually a great time and my ears were ringing for 3 days (OP wear earplugs) but yeah there were some underage faggots but its fucking DG and fucking portland what do you expect
I just stood far enough away from the pit for it not to be an issue. Honestly, just watching DG perform is super rewarding. Zach goes nuts on the drums. MC Ride moves like no person should, and Flatlander does such a great production job. Plus the light show really ties it all together. Fantastic experience, would go again.

One of the best shows I've ever been to. It was just fun, They played for an hour straight without stopping. I didn't find it too loud. I'm a 120 pound girl and I didn't find the moshing to be overwhelming or anything, and I was right in the middle of things. My friend lost a shoe though.

Otherwise it was fine. It was a 19+ show so it could have been much worse.
The performance was fucking amazing and the crowd was nuts, the pit fucked me up it was too hot. So stay hydrated and don't bring anything fancy or you might break it. Also if you wear glasses put contacts on.
It was also probably one of the last shows where MC Ride actually screamed out blood curdling black metal screams during some parts of the songs. I've seen on recordings of later shows he stopped doing it.

I went on the "reunion" tour
their fans are awful and you better hope like fuck the date near you is 18+
I saw them in Detroit last year. The show itself is very energetic and all members are really into it, even Andy. The set is nonstop. Every song transitions without pausing into the next instantly, so prepare for constant loud noise going into your ears.
The crowd was also great except for a few downers. Individually you will probably hate many of the people especially if you don't like the meminess of the fanbase. Personally I just tried to ignore that. Some of the people I talked to in the line were really nice.
Another suggestion I got but was reluctant to do (but am VERY glad I did in the long run) was to WEAR EAR PLUGS. Trust me, you aren't above it. You aren't "too cool" for it. (you're a death grips fan for fucks sake) It's worth it. My ears were ringing for days and I wore ear plugs. Just because you've been to a show without them before doesn't mean this will be the same. Seriously get some ear plugs. You can get more expensive ones, but DG was by far the best show of my life, and I wore cheap ones.

It's pretty much what everyone else said, the people are exactly what you'd expect but the pit was fucking great, during No Love two guys just started beating the shit out of each other which is either a positive or a negative depending on what kind of experience you want I guess.
Bring ear plugs. Even if you take them out eventually you should have them either way.
And don't stand near the balcony. When I saw them some fucking idiot jumped the ~15-20 feet from the second level down into the pit during Guillotine. If someone lands on you it's gonna hurt.
