The rules for this thread are simple: Just post good music by an artist you've never seen on /mu/.
Just a fun way for everyone to share stuff we havn't seen.

Bands you don't see on /mu/ are kept that way for a reason.

well I think last year's Junun was similar in instrumentation and had a good line up. Otherwise I suggest just getting into hindustani classical. Much more satisfying. Can't really think of similar artists. Maybe try Patty Waters and Linda Perhacs. I'd post some links but the archive is kill.
>>63363999
>Natalie Rose LeBrecht
>unknown to mu
yeah, tell that to all the avant-teens
>>63364207

the biggest innovation in brazilian music since tropicalia?
>>63364238
Yes. It was a movement called "vanguarda paulista".
Clara Crocodilo was the greatest record from this movement, but has other good but less experimental albums.

i was aware of him but not involved in a larger cultural movement, its nice to relate him to tetê espídola as well. i didnt know they used to perform together but i just read it on a quick google search, nice to know

I like Ronnie Von. He was the Mutantes' godfather.
He made three great psychedelic albums.

Patife Band was the Paulo Barnabé band. He's the brother of Arrigo.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-W5wlk8QsI
And Fellini. Just a good post punk band.

weird to think ronnie von was once a musician. mutantes' godfather? why?
any other good brazilian post punk btw?
>>63364691
He had a music show on TV. Mutantes was one of the bands that played at the show before the explosion of tropicalia.
And the name "Mutantes" was his idea too.
About the post-punk, have you ever listened to "Não Wave"? Is a compilation of brazilian post-punk.

Other compilations:

I think all the good bands are in these compliations. If you like, just search for more of them.
Has anyone else heard this album? It's really unknown and that's just a pity because it's fucking great

good to know, there are some really great brazilian punk rock compilations out there, some good documentaries about the scene too
have you heard a compilation from the são paulo scene, it came out last year? i think it was called "brazilian b sides" or something like that, one of the boys from ressaca 77 is a very good friend of my gf's

I haven't heard yet, but is good to know about it.
I posted this in an earlier suicide thread.
>French duo Keren Ann / Bang Gang's dark and imaginative conceptual album.
I quite got into Mother falcon recently. I really like their orchestral-folk aesthetic. Vocals could use a bit of work in some of their songs. I feel like they are still growing as musicians and their best work is ahead.
