That said, they're severely overrated.

The Cure were golden in the 80s. Seventeen Seconds, Faith, and Pornography were grim, emotional, and immensely creative. From Japanese Whispers to Kiss me Kiss me Kiss me, The Cure had a very enjoyable, mostly optomistic, and new wavey music style. At the end of the decade, Disintegration was a complete masterpiece with it's atmospheric gloom and powe passion heard from Robert's words. Great band.
