Fuck the haters, filter the general if you don't like it.
Get in here if you like older rock, however simplistic or experimental.

I personally love 60s rock.
I've been on a mod/freakbeat binge lately. There are plenty of bands forgotten, that put out some singles, maybe an album and then faded away.

Name me a better band then Armageddon

Don't feed the trolls.
>>63347555
thanks for the canterbury scene famalam, it's a shame a good number of /mu/ shoot down older rock music because pretty much all the good prog is from the 70s
>>63347566
Sorry m8 just pointing out the absurdity of his own post to him
>>63347549
at least I do't make a shitty thread for it ;) senpai
Rock and roll music reached perfection in 1974. It's a well known historical fact. Look it up.

at least I do't make shitty posts for it ;) senpai
>>63347576
Oh yeah King Crimson really did a good job with peaking it
>>63347559
check some of these bands

For these kind of bands I would go for the album, as rock didn't really work with that format unti a few years later. Check some compilation of their singles.
REMINDER that if anyone unironically uses "dadrock" as an insult they are the people who think theyre above that because of their dronelike anco, death grips and swans """""""""""""taste""""""""""""""""""
>>63347613
*I wouldn't go for the album
>>63347619
i like all those bands and i think dadrock is a shitty buzzword

There best album

The live part of Ummagumma is better
have you guys ever listened to this one? It's unique blend psychedelic pop with a pronounced soulful tone, and some proto-proggish structures. It bears some similarities to Jefferson Airplane, but it goes in a different direction, Ihaven't found another album quite like this. It also has the best rendition of All Along the Watchtower (yes even better than Hendrix's)

Small Faces all the way. Even when they became a regular psych rock band.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGEgRnvFzLY
>>63350644
well, considering the popularity of the UK mod bands on the US garage scene, the Yardbirds were more popular I think
(anyway, Small Face were pretty great ofc)
Their 1965/1966 singles/album are flawless (let's forget the Jimmi Page 1967/68 era):

their discography is so confusing though, it always prevented me to explore them.
And since you mentioned US garage rock,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WYmFSnAiZY
they ere english, produced by Joe Meek, but they sound savage like american garage bands.
