Say what you want about their image. Say what you want about that fucking disco album they made. Musically their earlier works are not too different from what MC5 was doing on their final album, except more catchy. And it's not Gene & Paul's fault that every band who looked up to them went on to make shitty music in the '80s. Except for the Replacements, they were good. Same with the Melvins. And Death. And Sloppy Seconds. And Zeke.
Not going to lie, it was the number of bands I already like who covered Kiss that got me to finally check them out.
