Any artists that are this well produced and euphoric sounding in the same genre? This album was 10/10. Very nostalgic to me.
>>
Bump for potentially amazing thread.

feel-good shit is not art.

>euphoric
Hello there reddit
>>
I have a soft spot for that album and Fireflies. Comfy as fuck
>>
>>63343916
Nothing wrong with inspiration, and putting on a smile every now and again Anon.

Doesn't have to be art, I'm just asking for similar musicians.
>>
>>63343928
The song Meteor Shower holds a place deep in my heart Anon. Very comfy.

Love the songs, Tip of The Iceberg, and If My Heart Was a House as well.

Obvious b8? Maybe I just don't browse enough of this shit-tier board to catch onto your edgy maymayz. This is not bait by any means.

Try out Summertime's End

>>
Check out Adam Youngs project Port Blue. No lyrics just ambiance music. There's 2 albums The Albatross EP and The Airship
>>
Wow owl city is fucking shit OP you can't be more than 18 years old fuck.

Listen to Give Up by The Postal Setvice it's infinitely better.
>>
>>63343834
Ocean Eyes is REALLY well produced. The drum-tracks alone are on par with most IDM records, and Young has a pretty good ear for tones/textured as well as melodies. Cave In, Tip Of the Iceberg, Vanilla Twilight, and If My Heart Was A House are fantastic tracks.

This stale argument again? Young covers a wider spectrum with his music than TPS ever did. Tamborelli never toyed with fuzzy synths nor with ambient pads all that much. I eventually wore out Give Up, but Ocean Eyes (and the OC albums that preceded it) still exude more color and toy with sonic textures that are just more enjoyable.

too bad he nicked their entire sound tho

>>
>>63346456
Byrne did the same to Fela Kuti, yet Remain In Light is still considered GOAT
>>
>>63346425
>covers a wider spectrum
Considering TPS released one album this isn't very surprising. When it comes to them doing the same thing TPS does it better imo and a wider variety does not signify quality.

>just more enjoyable
This is a terrible way to argue, if you're really a producer then use something you've learned from that to explain why OC's qualities are more profound or sonically interesting.

I forgot about this album. It's pretty good summer music that'd I put on during a long road trip with the windows down. Plus I live at the beach so it's comfy to listen to even moreso. Don't worry OP. Not all of /mu/ are cock sucking cucks that only listen to Kendrick.

Oh, so since that happened, that means it's ok for Owl City to do it? Fuck yourself. Shit argument, shit band, shit post.
>>
>>63343916
Except that's wrong. Any human creation, especially one that evokes emotion is art.
>>
>>63343834
complete trash album, OP. i will suggest Give Up by The Postal Service in hopes that it leads you to better places.
>>
>>63343834
this shit truly rips off some decent concepts and repurposes them in the worst way for pop-sensible, safe bullshit that is eaten up by folks that haven't really explored the "indie" or "electro pop" sounding music and its accesible aesthetics.
>>
>>63347426
I just farted in this sluts mouth and she started screaming and throwing up. She threatened to leave til I beat her into submission and made her read this post, thanks for saving my poon anon.
>>
>>63347426
I get what you're saying, but just because it may evoke emotion in some people doesn't mean it was a thoughtful output of creative energy.
>>
oh my god what the fuck is happening?
Since when did it become ok to discuss Owl City on mew? is this serious?
>>
I do have a soft spot for this album because I loved it in middle school. You guys are talking about it as if it's something you listen to and appreciate as "art" and take seriously... you can't really say this album is bad because it's not "art" and then go and praise emotion. They both exist for the same reason.
