I lost two years of my life to depression and only recently got moving again. I never thought I was going to live again (as bizarre as that sounds), I felt like I was just living, waiting to die at some point in the near future but a combination of exercise, psychological intervention and medication really helped me change my perspective. You know, for the first time in a while, I feel almost happy and somewhat optimistic about the future.
It's possible for things to get better but never worse than death, so, you know, don't commit to it, if you can help it. I know that sounds lame but you're going to die anyway, why not try and see if your luck changes. It would suck if something good did happen and you missed out because you died prematurely, right?
I'm not saying you have to change your life right now though (though I'm serious, if you don't already, then exercise and diet moderately, fuck me, it's more effective than any medication(though they help)). But if you feel tired or down or apathetic or generally just shitty, then lie down and mulch, maybe drink a few beers (try to stave away from alcoholism) and act as if you were trying to relax, even if you aren't. Even if you're doing nothing, it's better than suicide. Depending on my mood, I used to lie in bed (and if I didn't feel too down, listen to music or watch tv, try find something moderately interesting, if you can, you want to distract yourself from the dark moods, even if you aren't that entertained). In this sense, even if it's effectively "white noise", you're still keeping your mind occupied, which is better than ruminating on negative thoughts. (I'm not saying it isn't okay to lie in bed in silence though, somedays you might feel like that's all you want to do and that's okay).

Maybe, if you can, try taking up an expressive hobby of some kind (this takes some effort, especially if you're heavily depressed and won't always help) but sometimes, it can be very cathartic to just be "honest" in a sense. To take reality and abstract it through art or music. If you chose to pick up an instrument or start making art, you'll find yourself relaxing a bit more, btw. Which is definitely a positive if you're borderline suicidal, odds are you're probably stressed a lot, so a cathartic release will definitely help you exorcise some of that negativity.
As for your question though, listen to Red House Painters. Any album is good but Rollercoaster is best, imo. (I don't know about you but when I was depressed, it helped to listen to music like that because there's a comfort in knowing your not alone, you aren't the only one who feels so run down and broken up, like trust me, just try it once.)
