fallen angel has, by far and away, without question, the corniest verses on any king crimson track ever
their attempt to transition smoothly from that brilliant chorus back into it, back into that late 70's/early 80's drenched soulless white-man "city streets" toneless (literally? it sounds like the pot is literally on zero) guitar wank is possibly literally the worst point of their career (including their later albums)
it is not only just typically bad, it sounds both tonally and musically like a track written and played for a casio keyboard demo song, coupled with Wetton's already tenuous at best vocals, here stretched out in a breathy, disingenuous lament, delivering the somehow even more god-awful lyricism... and the fact that he didn't write and clearly doesn't empathise with the (shit) lyrics, it's a combo that should make you feel physically sick
these are some of the most whole-heartedly obnoxious sounds King Crimson ever recorded, and if you don't realise that you should probably just kill yourself

Really I couldn't care less about Genesis. I'm listening to avant-prog, canterbury scene, RIO and Zeuhl these days, more conventional prog would completely throw me off. Although King Crimson walk the line between conventional prog and avant-prog perfectly, which is why I love them so much.
