okay ill tell a poorly written story. I was 16 and going to see Animal Collective just after the release of strawberry jam. They were playing a small gig and the show was unfortunately 18+ due to the venue. Luckily the crowd was a bit bigger than anticipated and the security wasn't really checking birthdates on IDs, just seeing if people had em. After waiting outside in the line for a bit, I finally made it in and really had to hit the bathroom. Popped up next to a couple dudes on one of the awful wall-urinal things. In came two guys who were laughing hysterically. Although no one in the bathroom seemed to recognize them (you know, busy shitting and pissing and stuff), it was none other than deakin and panda bear himself. They were loudly reciting the spongebob theme song when noah popped up next to me along the wall and said, "these are weird, right?". I nervously turned my head and said "yeah man!" trying my best to not look down at his dick.
That was the first time I met the dude. Many years later, ironically enough, i'd end up doing 3d work for his Boys Latin video. Nice guy, glad I didn't look down.

It was a really special show for me. Ive seen em a few times now, but that performance has really stuck out as they focused on live renditions of material off feels and sung tongs, which are my two favorites of theirs. Haven't ever heard them perform some of that material again, even after many years of shows. Softest voice in particular comes to mind
