Really? I always thought that Ray Manzarek basically wanted to be the frontman and after Jim died he jumped at the opportunity to so, but those albums were boring and uninspired as fuck.
I love their live albums, bootleg or not. They just had a unique live sound to me, especially Jim. Love all their jam-length songs:
