This and Robyn Hitchcock. Lonely London Lad reminds me of Barrett too.

That shit is spy music
>>63266854
This, mono is the way to go for Piper
>>63266854

>>63266854
Get Soulseek.
How do people not know about this?
>>63266854
look for the "40th anniversary edition" or whatever it's called, has both stereo and mono plus the singles (which are essential)
sounds good too
>>63269019
you don't need soulseek when rutracker exists
>>63269051
>rutracker
It works well, but soulseek has a greater variety, and is just more convenient.

This is the only good Floyd album and it's a GOAT album, thanks to Syd Barrett.

Remember A Day and See Saw are some of my favorite Floyd songs, but its longest tracks, Saucerful and Set the Controls, are miles better live (on Ummagumma). Kinda brings the album down IMO. Speaking of which, the song Saucerful becomes fucking boring after 8 minutes before it actually picks up.

>only bad track is the title track

If you want this specific flavor of psych, look into the more whimsical English psychedelic scene, some of the bands associated with the UFO club. This particular sound was obviously happening around 1967/68.
July - July (1968)
Tomorrow - My White Bicycle (single, 1967)
Kaleidoscope - Tangerine Dream (1967)
The Pretty Things - S.F. Sorrow (1968)

Remember a Day is one of my very favorite Floyd songs too. Really love that whole album. So misty and dreamy.
Barrett is as patrician as you will get.

Also, for a slightly later evolution of this stuff, Twink - Think Pink (1970)
And of course early Soft Machine
Incredible Sting Band and even Donovan is probably relevant in this discussion.
I think The Parable of Arable Land shares some similarities
>>63270214
Yeah!
And if we're going outside of English psych (but keep it about '67/'68 and don't go too Texas-y or Byrds-y or San Francisco), The United States of America.
Bump for any more stuff like this
A Madcap Laughs and Barrett

How do you like other psy-pop records?
>Love - Forever Changes
>The Zombies - Oddesy & Oracle
>Beatles - Sgt. Peppers
those are some good entry points
>>63266736
I would've thought Can of Bees would be more appropriate, but Underwater Moonlight is just as good. (Actually anything by The Soft Boys is good)
>>63268538
This
>>63269271
I think the album pictured here>>63269339 is equally as good. Don't forget that Syd is on this too. (And don't forget the early singles collection called "The Best of Pink Floyd" or in some countries, "Masters of Rock")
>>63270186
First three Soft Machine albums are GOAT
>>63270208
PATGOD definitely has a Donavanesque feel to it at certain times. Good comparison.
>>63270247
If you like that, check out The Great American Metaphysical Circus by Joe Byrd and The Field Hippies. (No relation to The Byrds, the man just happened to have that particular last name spelled that way)

HAD A STRANGE, HOBBY
I've heard that Sparks when they were Halfnelson had some unreleased songs that were in this vein, but I have yet to find a full boot of it anywhere.
plen was such a good meme
