Yeah any time I listen to a new album I test the songs at normal speed by listening to 20 second samples. Then depending on the album I will increase speed to 1.5 or lower to .5 and sample the songs again to see if I enjoy it yet. If not, keep increasing or decreasing until I find that sweet spot. Then I just resave the whole album to what i like and delete the original speed one. Most punk is great at 1.6. Most ambiance is best at 3.1 and I love most rap at .4 speed.

I'm so glad I found this thread. No one here ever discusses this, so I thought I was weird for always playing my music at an increased speed. It's just so much more efficient, and allows me to listen to more music. And as long as you're not going crazy with it, it really doesn't take that much away from the listening experience.

if you have not yet discovered the joys of slowed music (specifically hip-hop) then you're missing out. obviously listen to stuff at normal speed as well, but a 30% slow can do a lot for songs.
