was a knowledgable music critic, so he recognized all the samples ronson used on an album.
but he just made an off hand remark about he loved the professor longhair loop in a particular song, and was asking about her interest in particular genres that seemed to have influenced the sound on the record.
but allen totally denied it was a sample! like she had no fucking clue. and the critic tried to drop it politely but she went on and on about how her producers (i think it was ronson) played all the music (which is a quibble; whether they sampled or played it, the point was the song/reference).
