I'm rerecording some old songs. My work laptop's down at the moment though. Got my buddy to do a piano outro on one song. Shit's still in the beginning phase. Probably gonna shell out some cash for a slightly better mic.

BUT that instrumentation is pretty damn good. same with production , and Im not saying your a bad vocalist I feel like it was badly done you are a good vocalist but you gotta do multiple takes and make it work perfect! you have what it takes man re do those vocals!

i'd but the drums holding down the 8th vibe, find a way to make it sparse as that seems to be you're goal for the drums and id fins some other instrument voice to be the spare end of the rhythm : like swap the drums and whatever you have doing the 8ths.

by textures, I mean more sound variation. I know that the thing on soundcloud is a short track, but I'm going to use it as the main example. you have two main sounds: the muddled airy pad, and the grating metallic drone. whenever you start making longer tracks, you'll want to incorporate different sounds. which brings me to layering
since you only have two main sounds, layering only really happens when the metallic drone swells over the pad. having more sounds to layer will make longer drone tracks more interesting.
