I normally don't like anything that can be classified as greentext chill but this is an exception. I love dub music and I love really cheesy garageband music so this is a great imo. Only gripe is that the bassline is way too middy for dub. Cut out some of the higher freqs of it and emphasis the subs on that bassline

Commented on this in the previous thread but I don't think you saw; really well-produced and good voice, you also have some catchy vocal melodies going on. That being said, I'm not sure if it's psychedelic enough to be tagged as such but eh. Pretty cool, still.

Hey, thank you. I didn't think anyone really listened to that album. I've been all over the place with Larksburg. Nothing ever sounds the same, you should look into the stuff that's on the Larksburg bandcamp to see what I mean.
We/I have 2 full lengths on the way of more 'unexpected' material so be on the look out for those.

Speaking of which:
* Hanging Tree Algorithm >>63239419
Your beats are dreamy. The first one started and I was immediately bouncing my head along to the rhythm. The dissonance in songs like Crater (1) is strangely enjoyable, but I prefer Crater 2 by a mile. Nebuloid or The Green Sky is probably my favorite beat.
* Ryan Sinclair
Gonna be honest. The piano sounds sound way too generic for this to be enjoyed as anything other than a semi-retro videogame soundtrack. All of the sounds feel like presets.
* quisutdeuswestonadam
Never been a fan of noise, but I love the ambient sections you have going on between the swashes of noise. I'd love to know how you are making these walls of noise, too.
* Doctor Kay >>63238053
This was nice and relaxing, though I'd love to hear some changes to the instrumentation. The drums are straight presets with some verb thrown on. That bass really needs some GROOVE to it. Really lay into that syncopation.

thanks for the feedback The drums aren't straight presets, I dampened the kit but I didn't do much besides that. I actually went back and eq'ed the kit yesterday but I have yet to upload the better version.
>>63238609
I went back and eq'ed the bass yesterday along with the drums. It sounds better. Ik it sounds garageband-y (that's cause it was composed all in logic) but it's the best I have to work with as of right now. Also good luck on your own project, I just learned how to do like a lover's rock beat and I laid out a killer track today, I just need to dub it. it's much better than what I have rn haha.
>>63238150
I don't like calling it chill, don't know why I did it t b h. But it's an apt description I suppose.
I did eq the bass like I said which helped, but I didn't make it that much deeper. Dub doesn't always have thunderous deep bass, often times it goes into mid range. I like to keep a balance, I don't want it to be overwhelming.
>>63237695
what the hell is this? it's like acoustic screamo. But not as in like real screamo like pg99 or something. Like mallgoth 12 year olds first band "screamo". What parents think of when their middle schooler says "screamo". What their middle schooler means when they say "screamo".
>>63237705
I'm interested.
>>63237777
Pretty cool. My cock throbs with hate when I hear overly FXed vocals, but I think they work well enough here. I'd still rather they were clean and mostly intelligible, but they don't ruin the music.
>>63238053
This is pretty fucking goofy but I like it. I think the bass needs to sound more like a bass to really nail that dub vibe though.
>>63238307
Not much a fan of this kind of music but I think it's really awesome that you released the album this way. BC threads need more people that actually perform live.
>>63238609
I feel somewhat misled. I mean, I think I heard some pianos and maybe guitars in there, but I was expecting something different. Just my rock-ist prejudices showing I guess. Suffice it to say it wasn't my thang.
>>63239419
I might have said this before but I think your project name is awesome. Something about it that I can't quite put my finger on makes my loins tingle.
>>63240452
Dope af onii-senpai. I actually do really like this and I am hard as a hard penis to please when it comes to electronic music. I feel like a lot of the electronic stuff that gets posted here either never goes anywhere and just kind of durdles itself or else is fine but is screaming for raps to make it more interesting. This stands alone perfectly well and I dig that.
>>63240595
Oh hey there it is. AAA here. I think the heart-monitor beep intro is pretty cliche and goes on too long. But once it starts picking up its very enjoyable. It seems less synth-inclined than some of your older stuff and holy shit that harmonica was an inspired move. I think it peaks a little early, or else goes on too long at the end. You could probably cut the part from around 5:00 to 6:15 with no great loss, and the stuff after that seems like a more appropriate cool-down than having a secondary half-climax in between, which is what 5:00 to 6:15 offers in my mind. Overall though I dig the fuck out of this. The meat of the track was awesome.
>>63241636
>I went back and eq'ed the bass yesterday etc.
does logic give an inherent sound like that? I've only ever used garageband, mixcraft, and currently ableton. Can't wait to scope that new track and the new mix of this one though, I'll be def keeping an eye out for your posts. reggae on /mu/ is extremely few and far between.
>>63241767
you would certainly feel misled if you only took a dip in the first two tracks. the rest is straight git and yano, & not buried or fucked with like the former.
>>63241840
depends on what bass you use
I usually go with a stubby or thumb bass in this case.
I changed the amp settings and that helped a lot. Sounds a lot more like a real bass (or at least as close as you can get it in logic) and I mixed the bass down a little as well because it was just a bit too over powering in some places.
Guitar is beyond saving though, that's what I really wish I could fix. I can't get a good crisp skank in logic. I might have to enlist a guitarist.
ik I'm not gonna be able to recreate the true dub sound to a dot, so I'm just trying to be creative and have fun with it and not get bogged down too much in trying to make the production sound super authentic.
I appreciate all the advice though. I might go make some further adjustments tomorrow morning idk.
>>63241926
I listened to more than just the first two. I guess I was just expecting something a bit more...traditional.
>>63241826
Thanks dude!
Yeah I had to go out and just wanted to get the track out there, I'll probably get rid of the heart monitor intro

for my tracks I've used my novation bass station plugin, one of the presets eq'd far down sounds pretty good for me, but I am going for a straight sub sound so far. I play bass but haven't gotten round to tracking yet to capture some mid for the real roots sound. I've got a buddy who rips on git and I plan to have him lay some skank and lead over it all eventually.
can't wait to dub the tracks out then. I'm gonna go crazy on some ping pong delay / reverb for sure.
