a good portion of the people in these threads post frequently and yet lack any artistic talent. they are not told this and they are ignored and so they continue to make trash without working on their fundamentals. they need to be told the truth about what they do or else they won't improve. furthermore, positive reception is more meaningful in a community with some amount of negative reception.
And I don't mean that we should just write "u suck ass" or whatever, but some of these people need to be told that what they're doing is not working at all.

listened to overcast. the ideas laid out here are really nice, and i think the whole track progresses quite well.
that being said, the guitar at the very beginning feels awkward as hell, but i get the impression that it was intentional. at the very least i'd try to give it a more... muted sound, maybe? i feel like that would make it sound less "sampled" so to speak.
also it would do you well to ease up on that master compression - or maybe just overall mix work could help more. the drums sound buried, that's for certain. cymbals may also be too loud.

you're mostly there, from here it's subtle mix work that'll top things off for ya. listening to "how long is forever", if that kick popped (or maybe snapped) a little more i think it'd sit better. it also feels as if the kick is interfering with atmos in the bg or something - if you're not already, maybe some sidechaining (at least just to the atmos' lows) is in order? pretty pleasant stuff to listen to either way, keep up what you're doin

pretty interesting idea, from here maybe you could work on making the bassline a little more dynamic? i mean, it serves its purpose as is, but the track could be made more interesting to listen to if you gave the sub all sorts of interesting pitch/volume modulations or something (within reason, of course)
something that i'm thinking would improve the track's progression is lowering the bell sound by an octave when the sub kicks in. just a thought that came to mind. i also think some short & subtle mid-high range reverb would sound nice on the hat + snare(s)

very intriguing, this one grows on me as i listen to it. i really like the flangy quality the very first sound (especially at 0:10) - and then before you know it, the track jumps into something completely different.
i think regarding the drums starting around the ~25s mark, you could do something fairly captivating with reverb going into a vocoder (with extreme settings) (and not on the main drum bus, a duplicate) - the idea being it just serves as a very minor layer to the drums providing a somewhat splashy or even noisy effect. idk, just tossing around ideas. i like this tho
do you use pirated kicks and claps? can you be sued for that? how can they even tell? should this be a major concern for someone making beats with pirated bass drum and hi hat sounds, especially if i wanted to get a cd pressed that used drum samples

from what i'm aware, only kontakt libraries are watermarked (and i'm not even entirely sure how). if you pirate a sample pack and use samples from it, they're not gonna be able to tell. if you're THAT worried, just layer a bunch and make your own drums using them (you get more customization that way as well).

Your idea about the drums is interesting, might experiment with the track some more. I thought about making it longer and having it jump off into a big xxyyxx-esque section, but that would have to work just right or not at all.
