They're pretty much sister albums but NOTM got way weirder with what type of samples they played around with. I really think they were onto something with GP and NOTM and I'd like to see them expand on it. I think GP is their best sounding album, it's far from their best due to how much of the great production is wasted on songs that go nowhere and have little content. But it's a great fucking sound.
We've seen them go from highly recognizable samples on Exmilitary, to more of the same on TMS but using more obscure material. To a more minimalist production on NLDW with almost unrecognizable samples and a lot of them played live using v-drums, to sampling themselves, again triggering a lot of these samples using v-drums on GP, and extending further on that with NOTM using Bjork as the main driving force for the instrumentals.
It's a nice sort of digitized evolution they've been going down. It kind of molded into something different on JD with all the live instrumentation getting involved. I'd like to see them continue going down this digitized electronic evolution. Hot Head sounds like a mix of Jenny Death and really strange use of sampling themselves, I don't know that I like it yet. It's a little too chaotic and I'm not sure it's Zach anymore creating those beats on the v-drums.

I'm pretty sure Hot Head has actual drums on it, but judging by the ending that builds up I'm pretty sure the next album is going to be some next level GP + NotM fusion stuff.
The song itself feels like such a natural progression to their sound, and I'm pretty sure that Bottomless Pit will explore both live instrumentation and the rawness of JD and the glitchy electronic side of NotM/GP and that it will be absolutely beautiful
