I fucking hate frank Zappa, I know somebody who cannot stop talking about him and how great he is and I've listened to a lot of his stuff in an attempt to understand this person's obsession but it's pretty much all wacky garbage. Even the instrumental stuff somehow manages to reek of his pretentious, unfunny sense of humor.

I don't think he made any really good albums with no attempts at comedy or wackiness on them, but there are some good ones. (the orchestral stuff like the London Symphony Orchestra and Boulez Conducts Zappa are not wacky, but I don't think they're very good...)
