Black One or Monoliths and Dimensions
>>63181369
Filth, yo should go by chronollogical order IMO
>>63181322
Monoliths and dimensions. Some people say black one but it's maybe too black metal influenced to be the starting point so start with monoliths and then move to black one.

For the lo-fi early period:
All Hail West Texas
For the studio production period:
Tallahassee
you can't really go wrong with TMG
>>63181882
if you want lo-fi, all hail west texas
if you want studio quality, tallahassee
>>63181801
start with another green world
>>63181882
What the other two said.
Whats great about TMG is that everyone seems to have a different favourite from each period. While those two albums are good representatives of their era, my favourite lo-fi is Zopilote Machine, and my favourite studio quality is Get Lonely. For my friend its Sweden and The Sunset Tree.
>>63182073
yeah, i get that - my two would be nothing for juice and transcendental youth
based darnielle
Rothko
The Orb
Alva Noto
Ryjoki Ikeda
Kendrick Lamar
>>63182118
Nothing for juice is great
The lo-fi albums remind me of a holiday in the cold north of england as a teen, when my headphones broke and I didn't want to listen to anything with strong bass through my laptop speakers.
best holiday
Genesis.
I love Peter Gabriel's solo work and Phil Collins solo isn't half bad either, but I was never able to get into Genesis.

>nile rodgers
here we go
I've not heard all his stuff, but here's the 'best of' albums
>Chic S/T
>C'est Chic
>Risque
>Norma Jean Wright
>Diana Ross
>Sister Sledge
all the stuff he did on those albums is great, but Bernard Edwards is also instrumental to his success.
>>63182305
>Selling England by the Pound
>A Trick of the Tail
>Duke
Those are my picks for best early 70s, late 70s and 80s Genesis album respectively, start with either of them.
Although, if you like Gabriel solo, you'll probably like The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway, it sounds a lot like his first couple of solo albums.
