FL studio is good for beginers, altough there is a lot of debate about that
It may work for you idk
Its not worth it.
You can set up ableton to act exactly like an MPC in like 10 minutes.
>>63161306
Renoise is also pretty similar, although I find the MPC is a bit more fun to play. I find it easier to focus on the beat when there's no visual interface to deal with. MPCs sound really dry though, something like the SP303 has better effects, but has limited polyphony. All options are good, although unless it's fruity loops, a DAW is what you're least likely to grow out of.
>>63160600
thats what i use atm
inb4
>just use a DAW, you can do everything on a computer that you can with a sampler
I'm thinking about getting an mpc too
If you get an SP before to learn on get the 505, you can do a bit more than you can with the 303, it has a screen, and it's cheaper.
>>63162356
get the mpc renaissance
I use a pirated impc pro and audacity
get on my level
>>63162316
actually you're in after >>63161306
>>63161577
Hear the sp303 is great, specially if your not trynna go to complex/good for beginners.
>>63156001
>>63162316
it's just a toy. you can do way more with a laptop. it's like you have to go to the store and you are asking if you should buy a horse to get there while you ride around in a Mercedes.
>>63157526
i've been eyeing the Akai mpx8 for a while now. shit's pretty cool, no computer connection necessary
>>63162409
What's the renaissance like? It looks like a fucking beast but that price isn't worth it.
I don't really want an ipad if all I'd use it for is an mpc software desu
>>63163084
But it's not a toy m8. You can do some amazing stuff with either hardware or software. What you have is important but how you use it is way more important.
>>63164334
mpx8 is garbage, no sequencer and you can't sample directly to it. The user interface is awful and loading samples to the pads takes forever. Seriously not worth it.
If any of you are truly serious about using a sampler in lieu of a computer + DAW, you should get an MPC 1000 with JJOS2xl. Should run you about 400 for the unit and 150 for JJOS.
>>63164704
You get the same functionality by hooking up a midi controller to your laptop. Hardware samplers would never have existed if personal computers were advanced enough at the time of their inception
>>63155979
Unless you're looking at a top-tier roland model there isn't much point, just use a program
>>63156029
>>63159150
yea, trust this anon.
grab something that has effects on it

I saw a video review for REAPER and it seems worth a download. Review said download is a 60 evaluation mode with everything unlocked. But I have yet to try it or any other daw yet.
