I'm kind of glad they didn't. I don't think they'd ever want to, to be honest. They aren't TOO big on touring for one and two they like having total control over their creative output and working at their own pace.

Yes, MPP was they're best shot at the mainstream, but desu it wasn't even that close. Your average person finds MPP waye too weird for their liking. Most people find it offputting. It's easy to forget that fact when we're stuck in the echo chamber of /mu/, where everyone considers it to be a really poppy album. AnCo never had a shot at achieving the same level of popularity as a band like The Shins, who are very poppy but still quite obscure for your average Joe. Bands like The Shins are only mainstream on college campuses (and even then, only certain colleges). And Animal Collective isn't even really mainstream on a college campus.

I have mentioned Anco several times to people at skool and they know what I'm talking about. Plus I've showed them to like 5 people in the past two months (I've been hyped since floridada and lying in grass released + seeing them tomorrow)
