I watched It's Such a Beautiful Day last night and loved the soundtrack. I noticed it was mostly stuff like Wagner and Smetana but looped and turned into ambient or drone pieces. Are there any artists that make music like this?

Somewhat related, but I've been trying for months to figure out what's playing during that scene in the screenshot. If you have any idea, do tell.
I too would be interested to hear music that did what you described. I feel like I've heard something by Stockhausen along those lines but I can't pin it. Or maybe Max Richter? I'll get back to this later should I remember what it was.

The part that plays is the end
Seconding Tim Hecker.
Also, Gas, and some other Wolfgang Voigt stuff.
I was hoping that movie would change my perspective or world view, but it seemed to just say "be optimistic, the world is beautiful".

What? I didn't really get that vibe.
Is there any music that creates the same sense of complete emotional desolation and emptiness that this movie does? I've felt pretty bad after certain albums before, but there's nothing remotely close to It's Such a Beautiful Day.

>He'd been terrified of dying his whole life, and as much as he tried not to think about it, death was always in the back of his head.
>He had come to know just one thing: you will only get older.
>And as the sun continues to set, he finally comes to realize the dumb irony that he'd been waiting for this moment his entire life.
