Kinda petered out and now most musicians with similar knack for quality are doing IDM whilst contemporary Fusion is streamlined muzak

I like Pat's world music stuff from the eighties and nineties more than the stuff he came out with prior, but jazz fusion is pretty cool sometimes

Honestly, one of the greatest categories of music of all time. The essential albums/groups showcase incredible technical playing and songcrafting. It's also a ton of fun.

I think it's jazz fused with non-jazz.
I've always heard Soul Coughing classified as a Jazz Fusion band, and they're my favourite band of all time, Though I don't really know what Jazz Fusion is.

I'm a big fan of the whole Frank Zappa, Brecker Brothers, George Duke nexus of Fusion.
It's jazz fused with shit... so it's almost good
