Any radio that plays Top 40 and 80s hits on repeat 24/7
Anything less that a minute, sped up or slowed down for each play. Volume also changes with each play.

I'm really confused why they don't just play harsh noise, they always choose pop. I mean I'm sure most prisoners are plebs so they'd just enjoy that but hate the torture.
>>62927659
Any top 40 music

The way he sings "people FOLL in love [...]" makes me wanna kill myself.. it's around 0:54
>>62929089
As if that's grating to listen to. Even merzbow can be easy to tune out because it lacks dynamics
My usual
'never gonna change my life' 'time of my life' 'la isla bonita' 'eternal flame' 'nothing else matters' 'just a gigolo' 'my way' 'in the ghetto' 'here comes the sun' 'if you're going to san francisco' 'house of the rising sun' 'smoke on the water'. Then a remix of all of them. Then as binaural beats. Then played by deicide. Then played by jayz. Close the days in lectures by zizek about movies. They will beg for beheadment.
>>62930064
'nevargunnachains my loveforu'
>>62930124
Nothing is more annoying then realy shitty lyrics. Repeat that shit. It just starts to enerve anyone, meaningless shit.
>>62928865
I think what they probably do is play the same song over and over and over and over again, so it's psychological torture. Playing harsh noise might hurt their ears, but it might not drive them insane (or loosen them up for interrogation) as easily. What's torturous about a pop song being repeated over and over again is it has patterns, you know what line is coming up, you know how the melody is going to go, and there are no surprises, which is why a very repetitive pop song would be especially useful. Every time the song fades out, you get a few seconds of rest and relaxation but then bam, it repeats yet again. And then add to that the fact that it's playing so loudly you can't sleep and it plays all night.... I've heard of heavy metal being used to torture prisoners, and I guess that makes sense because it might scare them, and I guess harsh noise could serve a similar person, but I would think happy pop songs might work better actually. Really, any song repeated over and over again would suck, the more so if it's not very entertaining to listen to and is repetitive and doesn't have a lot of nuances or new things to hear with each listen. And especially if the singing sounds so happy and the lyrics and music are so cheesy and poppy it sounds like it's mocking your situation. So I would choose something like that.
