ITT: When Pitchfork got it wrong
Everytime
When they didn't give yeezus a 10
>>62616470
You mean a 30
What's funny is that they realized they fucked up with this review when Discovery became a hit and they put it on their "Best Albums of the Decade" list.
Fuck Pitchfork.
Even though they gave it a better rating later still fucking stupid
>>62616417
>>62616657
this
never make a pitchfork thread again
When they launched.
This one made me genuinely mad.
The first 10 they gave. Walt Mink's El Producto, I can't seem to find the review anywhere but it was the most mediocre piece of shit I ever listened to.
>>62616360
kevin gates is good though
Painting With
>>62616360
That shit is great.
Giving 2 Phones BNT after it's been out for 6 months was pretty retarded though.
mars volta
^
I'm still upset about this.
>>62616360
I should just make a compilation of every dumb score, and pretentious drivel that is written by their muppet staff and post it on every thread that tries to praise p4k. No coincidence to me that a general was created right around the corner of a Kanye West album.
>>62617797
oM is trash tho

>When I heard about John Paul Pitts' arrest last summer, my first response, like that of many others, was a swift and decisive, "Fuck you." Even as more information has come to light, my feelings haven't changed much; Pitts maintains his innocence, and plea-and-pass might be enough for the Florida courts where forgiveness is concerned, but without hearing the other side of the story, I'm still not so sure. Pythons, seething with autobiography, doesn't make it easy to forget the circumstances around its creation, and separating the art from the artists here takes some serious doing; that score at the top of the page is for Pythons, not the people who made it. With Pythons out there, Pitts is going to have to get up there again and again and sing these songs, so full of hurt and confusion, penitence and longing. We'll never know completely what happened that night, but I sincerely hope Pitts never lets himself forget it. As long as he's out there singing "I Was Wrong", he probably never will.

Honestly such a forgettable album.
>>62618083
Lateralus was at least a 6.5
>>62616657
>>62616727
>>62618210
these are correct though
>>62619661
If it wasn't for the fanbase, Lateralus would be /mu/core.
>>62617797
Thank you. Seriously of Montreal's best except maybe Hissing Fauna.
>>62616360
I love Gates but he has a least 3 releases that deserve BNM more than Islah
>>62616657
they've done that alot
>>62616657
holy shit
I fucking hate Pitchfork
Not even a "best new reissue" or whatever
>>62617917
I don't think there is a single positive Mars Volta review on Pitchfork though
>Sugu's intro track "The Message" is the worst thing on an album of failed experiments-- a bad demo with a simplistic, paranoid rap that's as rhetorically effective as someone in a dorm room ranting about the C.I.A. inventing A.I.D.S. It's not the best idea to kick off your politically charged album with a song that demolishes the possibility of addressing a serious issue about privacy with any degree of depth or nuance.
Wrong opinions are one thing, but being factually incorrect and being condescending towards someone who is telling the truth is just fucking revolting.
>>62621207
>France the mute
>Fucking 2.0
Tell me this bullshit is a bad joke.
>>62616360
accurate score that
>>62623918
No way
>>62623938
You think it's too high?!?
>>62623973
>Kevin gates
> a 8.5
Pick one
You're right. Gates deserved at least a 9 for that.
>>62624000
does your meme addled brain realize you are completely incoherent?
Except islah is literally hip hop AOTY
>>62624021
The most random assortment of images I've seen.
>>62624044
Does your nig nog mind think that album is fucking good?
>>62624057
you gotta admit that kind of blue score is kinda ballsy considering how they like to fellate classics
>>62624139
You would be useful as a case study on the long term effects of memes on degradation of mental acuity
>>62624204
Ok. Tell me. What about that album is so good that its worth its 8.5
>>62623692
its real
fucking intern who listens to top40 reviewed it
said she "didn't get it"
>>62623692
>>62624768
P4k kinda has a hate boner for the Volta, not sure why.
Fairly certain most artists just buy BNM on that site anyways.
>>62624145
haven't read the review but a lot of times they'll give a reissue a low score based on a shit remaster or unnecessary bonus tracks or whatever. ideally they're reviewing the reissue itself first and the actual content of the album second.
>>62624799
because ATDI was the better band by miles
>>62624799
one of the members of TMV talked shit about p4k one time
>>62624913
yep, looked it up and the score was completely based on whether or not you should buy the 50th anniversary package or not.
>As an album, Kind of Blue is unimpeachable, the kind of record you look forward to listening to decades down the line. As a reissue, this anniversary package (expensive at $109.98) is nice but less than essential, best for completists or those with good record players to put the new vinyl pressing to good use.
>>62616360
Yeah it's a solid 9 fampai
They gave Rihanna's new album a 7.7
So there's that
Queen Lana did not deserve this score from a buttmad ugly sjw bitch
