A lot of people hated on ULB, and lowlights, even though that music is very much a part of the black experience. And in terms of musical styling, is HEAVILY influential to music made by black people.
So I get where Kanye is coming from. HE HAS A POINT, but similar to literally everything Kanye does, he doesn't express it very well.
I'll wait to see what people who are familiar with the experience rate it, as they will have a better understanding of the intention behind the record. I may think their opinion is more genuine. But doesn't necessarily mean that their opinion is "right" which I think is what Kanye missed.

The highs are high, but the mediocre stuff really bogs it down. And if you listen on a nice system it sounds like shit. A lot of mixing issues, some people sound like they recorded on a usb mic, there's awful clipping too. He also didn't use half of his features as well as he has, and his rapping has gotten worst. But it's still an important record and a strong showing from him and still better than the rest of his contemporaries.
