Why SMT 1 specifically? I'm assuming you're referring to the negotiation system of the series, and while there is an obvious influence, it's way more in-depth and fleshed out than the SMT negotiation system

There's no translation patch, but it takes as much from it as Apocalypse Now took from Heart of Darkness. SMT is mostly for the talk system, which exists in other versions of the series as well. You've never played them if you think Undertale does the talking thing more in depth. The game's whole aesthetic comes from MOTHER with shitty Homosuck writing.
