To the best of my knowledge like ten years ago they released an official very-limited box set pressing of Ape of Naples together with The New Backwards.
I have no idea if this supposed new repress is going to be 'official' or not, it's such a grey area with Coil's material. At this point I'm not sure it really matters anyway.

Coil was notorious for having absurdly limited releases of everything for being a relatively big name (their reasoning being that mass distribution of things made them feel less special). For example, the first release of Astral Disaster was mail order only thing where you had to buy a giant set of weird shit from other artists nobody cared about. There's also a variant of Musick that has a second sleeve stained with blood after Balance cut himself in a "demonic episode." (whatever that means).
So, basically, pretty much every physical Coil thing is unofficial fan pressings. Most originals are securely in fan collections. I think the easiest one to find is Musick Vol. 1, which was like 10,000 LP pressings (500 of them had fancy amethyst vinyl).
AoN and NB were available in vinyl format in a numbered wooden box limited to a hundred or something. I'm guessing they're recreating that, without the fancy packaging and stuff.

i guess it's in response to the success of Sam Smith, but recently there's been a bunch of major labels trying to sell pre-packaged gay pop stars (like the commercial disaster that was Who is Fancy, among other things)
i'm on the fence about it, but in your opinion is it a good thing (i.e. because it gives more visibility to gay performers) or a bad one (because people's sexuality is being cynically used to sell a boring product)
