With the pic and the topic, it's like you're trying to piss off as many people as possible.
>>62487341
only the title track is even remotely shoegaze
this is space rock
>>62487341
found this in a slowcore mega. i think this album match duster aesthetic probably because of same way of recording
>>62489746
>>62488176
It has its ups and downs. It's a slow year so far for sure.
Anyhow, I just purchased a Yamaha SPX90, for 50 bucks I couldn't resist, and can't wait to see just how great these are for gaze guitar. It was one of the few rack reverbs Kevin Shields used.
I've been checking out Stella Luna and Fleeting Joys, good stuff. Pic related.
>>62488214

Do it nigger. Shoegayze and Duster are both forgettable trash. While you're at it, slit your wrists for being such a triggered autist faggot.

does anyone else think ceremony's most recent releases like pic related and birds is the best stuff they're coming out with? the textures and noise and shit on, say rocket fire or disappear, are more powerful, yeah, but I feel like that doesn't make much of a difference when they're not complementing or establishing the mood of the song. this stuff has his more lo fi, for lack of a better word, "organic" sort of sound. it's a huge improvement imo
>>62491083
no one cares shut up
>>62490165
the spx90 kinda sucks honestly
>>62490165
>genre is based on effects pedals
>buys rack
lmao
No but seriously, that's a decent deal
>there is people devoting the time of their day to come into shoegaze threads and call shoegaze shit
Like nigga are you mad Kevin Shields ignored you screaming "PLAY THE ONE FROM LOST TRANSLATION" or what
>>62492000
idk it's not really the most surprising thing though. it's just annoying.
i instantly fell in love with this

Stella Luna is p amazing yeah, kind of a shame A Bridge to Nowhere breaks its flow so hard. Would've loved another slow Antares-esque as a closer.
Give me the noisiest shoegaze you have
>>62501605
Here's some of the Shoegaze guide's
>>62491430
In its own ways it does, I know. But it's classic and I appreciate its limitation, and I currently can't afford a $200-500 reverb pedal. After I stopped using modeling amps, I was left without any reverb, and my fairly basic delay pedal just doesn't cut it for massive walls of sound. I plan on fixing the SPX up, it comes with a new battery, I'll check the components in the power supply, and it's going into a true bypass loop because it's bypass will suck I imagine.
>>62491982
Hah, yeah. Kevin says he used no real pedals in Loveless, which in a way could be true if he used mostly rack, besides the fact I'm sure he used fuzz/dist.
Anyone knows any good calm blackgaze like this?
>>62498593
They're pretty good, I've listened to Guilty of Everything a ton of times. I'm interested in their new content.
>>62502765
Anyone else listen to this? I've known about this band for a while but the jarring death metal-ish sections were way too jarring to me back then
Now though, I really think this is one of the best shoegaze albums I've ever heard aside from the last track.
Where can I find the megalink for this? Some kind anon please help me out.
>>62498561
i think its nameless
>>62504753
I could've gotten the Alesis Midivreb II for $10 more, but they sell for cheap every day of the week, unlike the SPX. If I want one, I'll get one someday.
>>62504638
I think theres one from before he changed the name.

It's funny how they changed their name and even changed the album art to include their new name. I have the original when it was self titled, and I got it from their bandcamp when it was free. I since added their new name to the files though. Here it is:

what genre is this? they classify themselves as dreampop but I don't see much similarity

Any musicians here ever messed around with the Afterneath reverb pedal? In theory it should be amazing for shoegaze but whenever I put it with a distortion pedal it just turns into a washed-out noisy mess, and not in a good way.

>>62549651
I tried searching on the archive and couldn't find it. I assume you mean soulseek but i'm only on mobile here.
>>62491144
Actually, i'd say that
Skywave > Ceremony > APTBS
Moving to NY and disbanding Skywave was the worst error on Ackermann's life, APTBS has cool songs but really, their output after Exploding Head is awful.
Don't Think Lover is GOAT tho
Can someone rec me more Skywave-like noise pop?
>>62488214
Why? That's a really good album.
>>62551260
Because Duster is not shoegaze, you fucking moron
Who likes Electro Group?
>>62551260
Don't see why that really matters.
>>62551380
we should just always make non-shoegaze releases the OP. I'm voting for Ghetto D next thread.
yo famos, did Faye Wong do any other dream pop albums besides this one? What's her second best album?

"Coldplay" is one of the most friendly radio band out there right now..In every record become more pop and at the same time bigger on publicity..For me the first four albums of them was amazing..But after every year go down and down not because become more pop but write bad music..At the first time "Coldplay" was pop and friendly radio band..I grew up with them because i love their music and really i dont care in every record become more pop and all this..Commercial music some times sound good..And i believe must hear what we like and not become haters because this and that is pop and commercial..
After two very bad albums and specially "Ghost stories" (one of the worst albums i have heard in my life) was thinking this band can't write again one good song..Is dead one and for all for me..And was expecting the worst scenario for this..But i was wrong...After many listens "A Head Full of Dreams" is more pop than anything they done but is the best release after "Viva la vida" with some very good pop songs..The album to me sound good and have good tunes like "Bird" "Everglow" "Fun" Amazing Day" and "Up&UP"..And this album become bigger to me because the previous was very bad albums..This sound masterpiece comparing with them..I expecting the worst ratings on this because people is already prejudice with them and because, this album is really 100% pop album..But i dont care about what people say..I have heard thousand records on many music sounds and i dont feel shame to say:this album is good after the bad albums we take from them..I dont know how good is but for now i really enjoy those songs..Really miss some good melodies and feelings from them..

Check some Les Discrets or Alcest.
Nothing - Guilty of Everything is the most depressing shoegaze LP ever made.
Whirr - Distressor is the saddest shoegaze EP ever made.
the Boris cover of Sometimes is the most depressing shoegaze song ever recorded.
Prove me wrong
no, seriously, prove me wrong
I really want sad shoegaze ;_;
>>62557528
Coldplay was great, they got a little bit more insipid over the course of time, but still listenable and enjoyable. Except that song they did with Rihanna. Fuck that.
>>62502765
Alcest - Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde
Iroha - Iroha
also probably some Pelican
>>62557643
Holy shit, Guilty of Everything is one of my favoritest shit ever.
Not particularly sad, but it's emo and shoegaze, so there's might be a sad twist there: http://dating.bandcamp.com/
U2 > Coldplay tbqh
Does anybody have Ride - Grasshopper EP or Leave Them All Behind EP?
>>62557719
Oh yeah. That Please Be Quiet, I'm Very Interesting has some really sad songs. Great album.
>>62557746
Yeah, sure. And The Pains of Being Pure at Heart > Dirty Rotten Imbeciles.
>>62557779
The tracks should all be on the deluxe edition of GBA.
Also, you probably don't want those EPs cuz the artwork is really fucking paedo.
>>62557643
Are you hyped for Nothing's new album? Out of the 2 new songs they played live, I'm a fan of Vertigo Flowers but not much of a fan of Eaten By Worms

>>62557852
That release is really brick-walled though, that's why I want the original EPs.

Fucking love this album. Their most slept-on release as far as I've seen (but I could be completely wrong).
You guys like Flying Saucer Attack? Their s/t is pretty good, but the opening track stands out as god-tier:
http://youtu.be/gLzjsJgIUhs
Also a fan of what I've heard off of Distance, which I see discussed even less often then their s/t
>>62563832
>Which I see discussed even less often then their s/t
Which is to say I've never seen or talked about at all.
Where were you when /shugazi/ was kill?
>>62563832
I love Flying Saucer Attack! Their S/T should be an essential shoegaze album imo. I love the fuzzed out tones. Distance and Further are both great as well, but not quite as enjoyable as S/T in my opinion. Starting with New Lands he pretty much goes off the depend with that new hypnotic/percussive style and sort of drops the guitar tones. Some of those tracks are pretty cool but it can hardly be called shoegaze.
>>62564788
Which time?
>>62563047
ffs
I've been trying to find it forever, it's literally only on wcd and I can't afford to use the ratio
