Was written after the lyricist saw a documentary about zoo animals who go crazy from being confined, shitting all over themselves and chewing their tails and whatnot. Or it might be about the lyricist's mental state at the time. He disappeared not too long after he wrote it (read: he jumped off a bridge)

Love is all - The Tallest Man on Earth

never heard this before, love it.
Two of the first songs I learned on acoustic were green is the colour by pink Floyd, and rocky raccoon by the Beatles. Both very sad sounding songs by themselves. They are both very simple to play and sound pretty good. Try em out
Avril 14th by Aphex Twin
Good luck trying to coherently play the last couple of melodies of the song unless you have massive hands like Aphex does.

There you learnt the main verse of WYWH
Chorus
C D Am G D C B/C Am G
There that's the entire fucking song
It's so fucking easy to play it's almost laughable
I'm intrigued by the ambiguous phrasing in your post, OP.
Most people in the thread are interpreting it as:
"extremely sad songs which can be learnt acoustically"
but it could also mean:
"songs which make you extremely sad when you learn them,"
an overlapping but non-identical category.
For example, if you learn to play a Sunn O))) song on a (heavily downtuned) acoustic guitar, each chord will wither into silence long before you strike the next. Even though most Sunn songs aren't thought of as "sad" music, stripping them of their amplification brings home just how artificial the power of metal really is. For me, that's a little depressing.

Not much of a sad song but when I realize I have no one like that in my life for so long it kills me.

Correct, which is why its so goddamn hard.
Still, AFX has fucking massive monster hands. Wouldn't be surprised if he could physically hit a lot notes that most of us can't.
