I don't use any of their mobile apps so i don't really know. Of course a company has to make profit and selling ads is a good way of doing so. Adding ads would also make more users to buy premium, which isn't that expensive really, or then it will just make the users use other services, like hearthis.at. Anyway i guess that some ads would be fine, but the ultimate nightmare would be Jonathan from Spotify all over again.
I wouldn't mind ads before every couple songs like youtube. I have a lot of music I listen to on Soundcloud.

Bandcamp is great for finalized releases, and you can disable the feature that makes people pay/download to listen, it's all in your settings.
