RYM thread
Montie thinks Oasis are great and Blur is shit, that Coldplay are better than U2, and that music peaked with Radiohead. Why do you care about his taste?
>>62405941
lol
>>62405977
All of that is true except for the radiohead part
>>62405977
he also thinks that Sufjan Stevens, Oasis and Coldplay are all better than Brian Eno
By far the worst review I have seen in my years of browsing RYM.

This is an actual human being.
>>62406039
are you forgetting the part where DIIV are ranked the same as miles davis
>>62406041
Woah, talk about the wrong image. My apologies, nobody should be spared from this cringe.
I'm thinking of changing my rating system to something like this blog
http://goodokbad.com/
I would use 5.0 for good, 3.0 for ok and 0.5 for bad probably.
Opinions?
COOL, AN EXCITING NEW FEATURE
>>62406346
have fun with you're corner cases
literally just a handful of jandek ratings, but if that's what you're into

At least there's one plus to being stalked by him but stop fucking downvoting every genre!

when are they gonna put it on netflix

please end your life
Why do some people rate like 1000 albums per year, is music a fucking sport?
penis
>>62408257
Because how else are you supposed to have any credibility as a listener if you're not listening to ~2.6 new albums a day?
>>62407833
What does RLM have to do with this?
>>62407772
I like him but he stalks my genre vote page too.
>>62408257
why the hell does it make you angry

What are the requirements to being stalked by him?
If possible I want to have an account where I can do my business without having to worry about his genre votes fucking up my fun.
>>62408871
He basically votes on everything. You can't really avoid him.
>>62408902
But he must have a script or is an insane autist. I don't know how he is supposed to know I proposed a new genre on something unless he is refreshing my genre vote history constantly. I was thinking more about how to get off his radar in that sense.
And really what the fuck does he get from that? His username on genre pages? Half the time he literally just votes along with the crowd without even listening.
>>62408989
Best you can do is turn off your thing at the bottom that links your genre vote page. But since he votes on everything, it's hard to get away from him, especially if he listens to a genre you do too.
He doesn't have a script, he just votes on literally everything. And yeah, he doesn't actually listen to the shit he votes on or he YouTubes one track or something because there is no way to have that many genre votes otherwise.
>>62408257
I listen to plenty of new music (every day) but I don't just listen to it once, and I want time to come back to classics, rating (approximately) 3 albums a day ONCE and rating them immediately based off your first listen/opinion seems shortsighted to me.
>>62408757
Using the word 'fucking' =/= angry.
>>62409204
using it the way you do does, god, can't you even admit to that
people like you just bring down board quality so much
>>62409070
Turning it off doesn't make it inaccessible though, I know I've looked through people's ratings when they've tried to hide just by tweaking the url.
Yeah I'll just live with it for now or focus on genres he doesn't care about. It's just his bullshit is so obvious and mods can't do shit about it. All I can do is hope there are better privacy settings in sonemic.

>>62409287
Yeah, like I said, not much you can do. Thankfully he's generally a decent guy, but it does get annoying.
reminder that if you have more than 100 wishlist items you have zero taste and just go into genre charts and listen to random crap 24/7 in a pathetic attempt to develop knowledge in that said genre
VG board sucks
>>62409612
What did you expect? Have you seen the other boards?
Unless users with different opinion were willing to make themselves known in the rym forums and somehow not get banned in the process it was always going to be like this.
>>62409735
people usually get banned for having shit personalities though, not for their opinions, those things aren't connected
>>62409794
It's a mix really. You can get away with a shitty personality if you allow the community to remain as it is. People like Iai have broken the guidelines of treating users with respect multiple times.
And having an "incorrect" opinion on that forum usually means you will get baited for it until you're stupid enough to do something bannable.
>>62406062
I hate his Y review.
>>62409612
Why? I've never been there
I imagine it's just Undertale knowing rym
>>62409890
>Why?
it's dominated by the likes of Iai and Avery_Island
>>62409890
There's a really annoying user there who used to frequent the Off Topic political board and would just post links and random phrases in a really obnoxious manner (very similar to Grundle but more smug and less humorous). I thought he was dead but somehow he's now on the VG board and I hate it. He is not worth arguing with at all.
>>62409849
yeah, Iai gets away with too much. he called another user a cunt earlier today, any of us would get banned for that
>>62409941
>Iai
I just know that guy as the 30 something with the le quirky Taylor Swift gift
What's wrong with him?
>>62410010
He has seniority and I'm pretty sure he's very pally with some mods. The best thing to do is just flag his posts whenever he does this shit. Any baseless insult is technically against the rules.
Is there a way that I can insult people without getting banned for 2 weeks? like for example will i get banned for posting something like "please stop posting" on someones profile?
>>62409983
Bagman?
>>62410205
who do you want to say that to? you would probably get a warning
>>62410250
>Bagman
How did you guess? It's impossible to have a conversation with him without him talking down to people and quoting the exact same links over and over. I can't believe grundle somehow gets more shit than him.
>>62410205
You have to be provoked and your retaliation has to be mild. No slurs and you will just get a warning at best with a clean record.
Heck with a clean record you could probably get away with just saying "please stop posting". If they don't flag you it may go unnoticed.
