/christian/ music general.
I've been listening to Burl Ives classic gospel stuff lately, There's an understated sincerity to it that I really appreciate.

I found /mu/ through following my music tastes actually, and it's honestly the best place to discuss any musical genre.

very rare gospel record that I found and ripped
>>62377784
what's the story behind how you got this record?
I found this 70's record in a goodwill by a Nathalie Haag and Thom Hardwick where they played gospel songs on organ and grand piano. The two were channeled to the extreme left and right and it's interesting to hear but i have to get around to ripping it.
>>62377784
There is a bandcamp for it too, strangely enough.

>>62378071
I would be interested in that if you ever get around to ripping it. No rush though.
>>62378112
It wouldn't be such a pain if my audio technica still worked. do you have a last.fm or anything i could send you a message with when i get around to it?
>>62378071
I found it at a state sale. From what I can tell from discogs, ebay, amazon etc there may possibly only 5-10 in existence and it was published at some bookstore then shipped to a church event in kentucky where it was sold/handed out and signed. My copy and every copy that I can find online is signed on the back by Esther Russell.
pretty sure my rip is the first time its ever been converted to mp3.
I'd be interested in your record too if you could ever get around to ripping it.
>>62378112
i uploaded it there as a backup. the copyright owners are long out of business so hopefully it'll stay up.
>>62378168
>you will never be a nomadic Washington Philips-esque musician whose work would be uncovered decades later and celebrated
why live
That sounds sweet, I just finished downloading it and I'll give it a go. In the meantime, yeah, I'll be more than happy to tell you when I get the record ripped. Do you have a last.fm?

Try her album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill the next time you have a free hour. If you don't like it, forget about it and never go back

I'll consider it, thanks anon.

This was the album I was referring to earlier btw. I couldn't find a picture of it online so I tried doing it myself and I'm just terrible with printers.

>>62381124
Even Dawkins calls himself a "cultural Christian" because he knows without Christianity, the durkas take over.
>>62381196
I was being sarcastic. Dawkins is a fucking idiot. Sure, he's a great biologist, but he is about as uneducated in modern philosophy as Ken Ham.
