I haven't listened to that yet, what's it like?
>>62056714
THIS, wish more people agreed that its actually a good album (better than anything Metallica ever did imo)
>>62056710
Country + ambient + female vocals + adventurous story

So this is like 21st century's Metal Machine Music, right?
for obvious reasons
>>62057501
FUCK YEAH.
One day this will be appreciated for the masterpiece it is...
>>62056698
my
fucking
nigga
built upon A$AP Rocky's LiveLove in terms of cloud rap and popularised the vaporwave aesthetic in hip-hop, definitely future classic
>>62056714
>>62057360
Only these two. I love like clockwerk but it's not gonna be a classic
>>62060434
I think it could be seen that way
>>62060467
Isn't Converge already seen as classic? Seems that way anyway
>>62056659
If this isn't already
none of these for a start
This
Whether you like them or not, when people look back at this era of music Arcade Fire are going to be one of the standout artists for sure
>>62060969
Agreed
I'm half serious half meme-ing
>>62061081
Maybe if they get more well known, otherwise i'm not seeing it
>>62056649
probably not
>>62056659
Human Sadness will be known as a great song
>>62056698
maybe
>>62056714
ehhh maybe
>>62058911
I can see it being an underground classic in a few years
>>62056649
I could definitely see that
>>62056659
No way, you'd be better off sayinh Reflektor
>>62060969
Oh absolutely, the fact that shit like Grimes gets all /mu/'s attention unanimously but Arcade Fire are considered generic and uninteresting depresses me
>>62061081
I'd love if it was cause the emo-revival is really rock's last chance
picrelated is a definite

lol no
you people are the modern equivalent of 80's glam rock fans
>>62061368
what will be regarded as a classic then?
also I noticed you didn't include The Suburbs in your list, implying something there?..
It deserves to be anyway
Not like god-tier classic but at least as one of the best records of the year it was released
>>62062014
He didn't include Sunbather or Divers either.
the fact that threads like this struggle to get over 40 replies while fucking anniefag threads get 50 replies easily in the first hour is depressing
>>62062014
popularity, quality and being in the spirit of the age they were released
most of the albums posted itt are niche and nobody cares about them
suburbs like the guy said is important because arcade fire is important, sunbather marked discussion (even if it wasn't that good) and joanna newsom is important as well
>>62060467
>>62060583
>>62060969
>>62061143
likely these, everything else will be largely forgotten
>>62062181
No you didn't understand I want you to name an album yourself, what do you think will be regarded as a classic besides what's posted in this thread?
picrelated is obvious considering the circumstances
I could see these be as well
>>62061143
>>62061185
>>62060969 (that I can say with 100% confidence)
>>62062258
I'm not sure about ...Like Clockwork, since I feel that it's a very uniquely sounding album. Yesterday there was a thread with anon wanting something similar, and noone could really recommend anything. Of course, it doesn't mean that there isn't any records like it, but it's certainly the only one that's at least something semi-popular.
>>62062278
run the jewels
>>62062341
era vulgaris and other qotsa albums
the black keys latest albums
radiohead
>>62058864
I second this. Danse Manatee is fucking underrated. Nobody understands it
>>62062433
>era vulgaris and other qotsa albums
Much heavier and lacks in mixing department, compared to Clockwork
>the black keys latest albums
Much softer
>radiohead
The closest probably, but even then, until you cherrypick OKC, HTTT and Amnesiac you won't get close.
>>62062576
>this post
lol
also lana del rey's last album (produced by the black keys)
>>62056649
agreed
>inb4 nobody posting the obvious picrelated
>>62062686
too son to tell tbqh
>>62062689
soon**
>>62062686
I pair this with Madvillainy & Donuts because it rides on that tier.
>>62062726
madvillainy already is a classic tho
I hope this is a meme thread. LC is not even QotSA best album.
Should I go see Iggy with Josh & co? I'm not a huge Iggy Pop fan, but I appreciate what I've heard (Passenger, Lust for life, raw power, search & destroy etc). I love everything Josh has been involved with though and I dig the first 2 tracks released from the new album.
>>62063532
No.
OKC and Kid A are already classics, and In Rainbows, while a fucking awesome Radiohead album, isn't as influential as those 2 by far.
>>62063048
this desu
>>62063532
>>62063572
these two are somewhat classics
>>62056649
Yes
>>62057265
I hope so.
>>62065833
nice dubs but qotsa hasn't done anything worthwhile since 2002
>>62066908
what is misfit love? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LT_kDj4Xzo
>>62066970
a mildly interesting song on an otherwise overrated album
debate me
>>62057265
Seriously underrated album. It's so incredibly out there, but in a really fun way. I always say that almost every album has that one song you always used to skip but turns out to be the best song. Era Vulgaris is like a whole album full of those songs.
>>62067096
I actually agree. It really marked the era in which it was released and is pretty much the definition of the sound of most Nu Metal. I'm not saying I think it's good, but yeah, I see it as a classic.
>>62067404
agreed
>>62056659
This is a great album but pitchfork pretty much ruined its legacy
I'm not even memeing. It pretty much sums up the American sociopolitical climate from the early to mid 2000's.
Or maybe that'll just date it faster. How the hell should I know.
>>62061368
(You)
Here you go dude :)
have a nice day
>>62068003
mad
>>62067142
Agreed, that's definitely QOTSA's most underrated album.
>>62056649
While I'm a big QOTSA fan and I agree with people when they say LC is one of their best albums, if there's one record of theirs that'll eventually be seen as a classic, that's Songs for the Deaf.
>>62068040
disappointment
>>62056714
This is the only even marginally serious answer. I realize whoever posted the QOTSA and Arcade Fire is trolling, retarded, a child, or some admixture of all three, but still.
The remaining suggestions are fucking dreck. Please post pictures of yourselves so I can see what a tasteless fucking piece of human garbage looks like. I don't think I've ever actually met one before, at least not since college anyway. I always wondered what kind of useless, subhuman filth bought Radiohead and Green Day records.
>>62056782
Just because it has Lou Reed doesn't make it any better than the Cliff Burton trilogy. Lulu is fucked mostly because of James Hetfield's horrible voice.
>>62068553
Do you smell that? This pasta...I think its alfredo.
>>62067142
Turnin on the Screw is such a good opener. Nowadays I would prefer listening to this album over SFTD. Blasphemy, I know.
>>62068722
its at least definitely more playable on the jukebox than SFTD thanks to all the radio interludes

>>62056834
>>62067985
they kinda already are
>>62062689
nah it surely will be. i remember seeing some time ago some video where cops where taking an (allegedly) innocent black kid during one of those blacklivesmatter marches and a lot of people surrounded the vehicle singing the hook to 'Alright' until they released the kid (that's how I remember it going, at least). This album got a lot of attention and people associated it with a kind of culturally-important movement, so obviously it will be remembered.
>>62056714
it got forgotten pretty quickly so no
