I've heard of The Cranium (A New Music for a New Kitchen has been hidden in my computer's library for years, mostly because of the Buzzcocks pun), and I think I might've heard a Circus Lupus track on a Dischord compilation once, but this list makes me want to check out all these groups.
I grew up just outside of DC, so I felt a pseudo-affinity to all the post-hardcore groups that came out of the city as I slept in the suburbs

I have some other stuff that focuses on experimental or atmospheric production with the lyrics acting more like a (vital) instrument of the music. If you want to hear some of that let me know. Shit, you should listen to Villain Accelerate (instrumentals) because its fucking awesome.
I stopped listening to new hip hop awhile ago for the most part so this is a snapshot of a few years, but I still think they still hold up today. I'm not sure why I stopped, I guess the art just isn't in my blood the way other art forms are.
