Trying to rip a record I got that apparently is nowhere on the internet in any form (that I can find, I don't belong to any private trackers though).

I recorded it into Audacity, what should I do next to clean it up? I've noticed for example that certain tracks have points that sound kind of bad, but I don't really know if that's the recording or just the album.

Pic related, Tatsu's stuff is way too hard to find online.

My setup can play all three.

Also put in oasis for added neme effect
>>
>>62050710

>>62050673 here, I have a similar record player, is yours by Audio-Technica?

My only vinyl is my dad's stuff he left behind for me (most of which sounds terrible from being abused by the kid owner or just from sitting in a box for 30 years) and two albums I've purchased myself since.

I don't mind vinyl but it is a pain in the dick compared to other stuff. At least it's not as bad as 8-trak tapes.
>>
Just bought Low on discogs, pretty stoked.
>>
>>62050758
Oh yeah, vinyl is a pain in the dick but it's a fun pain in the dick to me at least.

It's an AT-120
>>
>>62050793
that explains it, mine is an AT-LPUSB-120

I got meme'd hard on the USB part but at least it's a solid table, also I bought it on sale with gift cards at a place I don't usually go anyway, so I don't really regret it.
>>
>>62050710
did that come with your record or did you really just buy the CD of YHF

either way good album even if it is p4k core
>>
What if I only collect 8-Tracks?
>>
>>62051062
absolute madman

I don't know how you put up with their BS
>>
>>62050710
I found YHF for $1 on cd at a thrift store, gotta love thrifts.
>>
>>62050771
I might have to sell some of my Bowie stuff, the prices on some went up a lot since he died, I have this version of Low in near mint shape, might sell it:
http://www.discogs.com/David-Bowie-Low/release/136525
>>
>>62051328
I've even seen some of the Rykodisc cds selling for up to $40 each which is crazy, they used to be like $5 each or so.
>>
>>62050873
It came with the record. I have YHF on vinyl as well.
>>
>>62051424
oh nice, surprised me when I got it on vinyl too

bought these with some leftover christmas money
One on the left is Mingus Plays Piano with the cover ripped off. Vinyl is VG+ and it cost me $4 so can't complain.
>>
>>62051328
Yeah dude I had to search for a good bit before I found something that wasn't $70+.
Finishing out the Berlin trilogy is gonna be a bitch.
>>
>>62051500
They'll repress and demand will go down in a few months if not weeks, then you can snag the original releases for reasonable prices again.

Already doing it with Ziggy, and the Berlin Trilogy hasn't got shit on that in terms of popularity.

It's worse when its a foreign seller and they never bother to tell you if they shipped it or if it has a tracking number or not.
>>
What's a fair price for cassettes?
Handmade CDs?
>>
>>62053057

Certainly not over $15

Like $5-10 each, maybe slightly more if they are professionally made. Most of the new tapes I got recently were only about $4 - 5 each or so including shipping since I got a bunch on sale from experimedia, pic related.

Yeah I've been wanting a copy for a while. It'll be one of my favorites to spin regularly
>>
I bought a DVD (>2016) of Marvin Gaye because it has like two minutes of James Jamerson footage on it, and the faggots at UMG removed a ton of Marvin Gaye from youtube so I couldn't see it any more.

Rip it yourself, it's not hard to do. I made myself a rip of Merzbow's flare gun since the 192 rip online is shit, my rip came out a lot better.
>>
>>62055169
I don't the have the equipment and I assume using a computer mic would result in even shittier quality. how did you do it?
>>
>>62055216
not that guy but I did headphones outs from reciever into audio interface
>>
>>62055240
Most modern turntables have USB outs.
If you're looking for a program, Audacity is top-notch.

Marvin Gaye "The Real Thing" in performance 1964-1981

There's not much content, just a couple of songs from each of his 'eras'. The highlight is the only bit I wanted, What's Going On/What's Happening Brother played live with the Funk Brothers.

There's also acapella tracks which seem fairly well done, but aren't that interesting to me. Instrumental tracks would be nice.
>>
>>62055307
>>62055240
we own 3 record players, one is in storage, the other is broken and the other is a shit crosley. I think crosley only has audio in/out port but i'm not even sure about that

Picked this up today

Probably the worst bootleg I've heard. It's just full of interviews about the album.
>>
>>62057965
Depends.

Are you talking Vinyl? Then the fear really is in how the original's been maintained and its condition.

CDs and shit? No, same shit.
>>
>>62056374
>What's a good tape player to get

They're all fine, as long as you don't get some dumb shit that eats tapes.

A walkman is good for portable listening.

>>62058120
Yeah vinyl
>>
>>62058208

Picked up a copy of the Pink & Brown/Death Drug split yesterday, one of the pink copies. Pink & Brown is one of my favorite bands ever, and this split is where my favorite tracks were originally released, so I'm pretty fuggin happy.

and ofc the Lil Ugly Mane boxset

Sundays pick ups. Props to the other dude who got Moon Safari, lovely album.

This stuff is a big contrast to my mostly DnB collection.
