they're great seperately, alright as a group. RTJ2 is extremely overrated. there's nothing conceptual or particularly socially interesting about the lyrics on the RTJ records and the fact that people apply SO much political context to their shit makes me think they haven't listened to RAP Music or Cancer 4 Cure

it's basically 2 talented dudes trading 'hardcore rap style bars' over el-p's increasingly generic production. it's good, but not anything insanely impressive especially considering they've both been involved in near-10/10 hip hop projects outside of RTJ
