It's always been an album that shows up in chart threads, but it has gotten enough attention in the past year or so to be /mu/core.
Anyway it's among the first post-rock albums and has a lot of jazz influences.

it's a really slow album, but that's the kinda thing you should expect from post rock. I really recommend listening to it (and Spirit of Eden as well), especially if you like jazz, post-rock, or new wave.

The Glow is a little too slow for me. I really like it, but every time I try to listen to it, it just never sits with me right.
ITAOTS hits a weird sweet spot for me. It's rough and fast, slow and tender. It just hits a good range of emotion for me.
Spiderland is one of those albums for me that just find you at a time in your life where the tone just knows how you feel. Personal preference really. Actual rating is like a 6 or a 7 but my own feelings about the album got in the way desu.

I disagree that The Glow Pt.2 is a bad album. It flows really well and has a lot of intricacy and heart. But Mount Eerie is the better album in my opinion (it's probably my favourite actually). I like listening to It Was Hot, The Glow and Mount Eerie all in one go to get that full Phil experience. (missing Don't Wake Me Up bc it's nowhere near as good)

Ignorant and obviously bait, but I'll reply anyway. I'm not a Kanye fan just because I think MBDTF is better than anything Death Grips has done.
I think Zach Hill is a talented drummer, but honestly every other project he's worked on has highlighted his skills better than DG.
Being a full-time vocalist is one of the most irrelevant positions you can have in the making of music, so who gives a fuck about Stefen.
Finally, Andy is just an ok at best producer which is another position that requires far less talent than playing an instrument.
Every single instrumental from a DG song (with their widely praised influences from noise, industrial, and punk) have been significantly weaker than their influences that set them apart from run of the mill hip-hop.
That's all I have to say, I think Kanye is an idiot who is definitely not as great at making music as people make him out to be, but MBDTF is significantly better as an album than anything DG has done.
