Crescendocore refers to a specific style of post-rock that blends the styles on Mogwai Young Team and LYSF together, although it generally has more emphasis on the latter. Examples include Mono, EITS, GIAA, TWDY and many other generic bands.
TBK sounds nothing like GYBE or Mogwai, therefore it is not Crescendocore. It also happened to be my AOTY 2014.

Post-rock is meant to be a genre of rock music that uses non-rock sounds in a rock music context. Using guitars for texture (especially via extended technique), having nonconventional song structures and compositions, strange instrumentation, etc. all in a rock music context. Third wave bands have missed all of those points entirely.
