Have you ever legitimately sat down and listened to one of their songs?
Bowing a guitar with a screwdriver is anything but easy, and coming up with such a concept in the first place is already incredible on its own.
The samples are literally of people talking, it is their own take on vocals. They're like the spoken word on Spiderland but more abstract. It's meant to be approximately as deep as your average punk rock album is.
Reminder that crescendoes =/= crescendocore.
If they're so overrated name me one other band that existed during 1997 that sounded remotely similar to them.
