Yesterday, my 13 yr old little sister said:
"Appearances matter more than the music."
Do you agree, /mu/?
congratulations your little sister is going to grow to be a vapid whore

She's 13.
Ofcourse she's a moron.
I agree.
>>61975297
to the general populace, unfortunately yes. To those on mu, generally no.
Sureeeeeeeee
she was right. that sentence is deep.
>>61976639
my dick was deeper inside your mom's asshole last night
I doubt many 13 year olds are interested in music beyond the image that potential idols project.
What if you're ugly
music is ultimately an aesthetic product, but more importantly life itself is an aesthetic experience
>>61975297
Is she cute? You should have sex with her.

>To those on mu, generally no
Bullshit. Appearances definitely matter on /mu/; appearances based obscurity and experimentation; the shallow stuff.
Yes
and it's all Bowie's fault

i dont think appearances are always more important than the music. if you're watching an opera, you don't need to see what anyone is wearing to understand what the music is conveying.
i think good bands just know how to take advantage of visuals(album art, costumes, performance) to enhance and recall the musical experience.
I believe that good visual aesthetics are very important
but not the be all and end all if the music sucks
music is number 1 but if you want a decent following then you need a good aetshetic that compliments your music
She's already wiser than 99% of mu

If Bowie's face were like Frank Black, nobody gives a shit when he dies.

At least shes honest.

For mainstream success? Definitely. It's why the Pixies never really took off to the mainstream. They all looked too homely.
For making good music? No.
For getting moderate niche success? No.
The fact that she thinks that shows that the only music she is aware of is the mainwave radio music.
