My step dad was really into psychedelic music so I gave him a copy of MPP.

>This isn't psychedelic Dave
>Now Jimi Hendrix that's some real shit
>After the 70s music lost all of its soul
>Let's just listen to Sgt. Pepper again

At least he liked My Girls alright even if he wouldn't admit it was psychedelic.
>>
I actually turned my dad into a huge Joanna Newsom fan, and my mom is really into Mount Eerie stuff. She loves "Wind's Poem" even though it's, well, Wind's Poem.

Took my friend to a swans show and he liked it, even bought a shirt and vinyl afterwards.

What are good recs for someone who doesn't even listen to music? It's my dad. He has a couple old Genesis and The Police tapes but he never listens to anything.

I've showed him a lot of bands and artists spanning different genres. I showed him King Crimson because he liked Genesis (and a bit of Rush) but it's too "outlandish" for him. I also showed him newer stuff like Radiohead, Yo La Tengo and Porcupine Tree. He likes some of it but he doesn't care to listen to more of it.

Is he a hopeless cause?

>On speaker, because that's how to listen to them
>Sit outside of my room and do homework and listen to them
>Mom says "oh my I love this! It's night music. It's really hypnotizing, I love these violins."
