I am sorry my friend but civilization in japan existed just as long. It is true they borrowed a lot of culture and written characters from China, but a distinctly Japanese culture developed very early on in recorded history. That's like saying the United States is just a ripoff of Europe.

China's government might be shite, but its culture is still the best one. And they made bigger achievements than any other country.

>civilization in japan existed just as long
>Chinese formation began in 2070 b.C.
>Japanese formation began in 660 b.C.

You are right. In actuallity, the USA is a rip-off of all cultures if you really think about it.
>>
>>61940615
>You are right. In actuallity, the USA is a rip-off of all cultures if you really think about it.
You cannot deny, however, that there is a distinctly American culture, a way of thinking or a method of doing things that pervade their way of life and differentiate from a European. The same applies to Japan.
China has a very good traditional culture and an interesting religious field with its institutions interacting with folk belief. However, imo Chinese society is in general slow in innovating or experimenting with new trends. Japan is quite the opposite, and this can be seen in their rapid modernization among Western lines in the late 19th century. I think this is where some of the appeal comes from, in that it is a "Western" country built upon a wholly different cultural foundation. China has modernized comparatively recently and has take a unique route that still keeps it an "Eastern" nation, in western eyes.
But on the lines of experimenting, this can additionally be see in the depth of their modern literature and particularly music. While China has very impressive works of literature (and their music scene currently is anything but barren), the Chinese again are slow to pick up on modern trends. This is why, I think, /mu/ has a fascination with Japanese music and not necessarily Chinese. Not because everyone is a weeaboo, but because there is genuine interest in music of Japanese invention.
>>
>>61940615
Chinese culture, at least the one you tout with the achievements and such, no longer exists. There doesn't even exist a distinctive contemporary chinese sound like there does for most other countries.

>This is why, I think, /mu/ has a fascination with Japanese music and not necessarily Chinese.
I think it's because China has been very closed minded in terms of media because of their soocialist government. They use their own version of Facebok, their own version of Soundcloud, etc.. This prevents several Chinese artists form sharing their material the same way as Japanese do. Besides, freedom of speech is limited because of the same socialist government. An example of this is Ai Weiwei, who has been arrested just for trying to express himself. As I sayed before Chinese culture is great but their government is garbage. What I sayed can also be applied to of why China doesn't really experiment with new trends.

>>61941253
Nigga. China is still innovating in the medical and technological fields.
I'm gonna tell you something. If China stopped eating dogs, kill their socialist government, and help the NASA, we would be living in Nibiru right now.

Fuck China. Their language is inferior, they're poor, they lack the based aesthetics and technology of Japan, the cities are even more crowded and polluted than Japan, they have no strong modern cultural exports, they got their shit kicked in by grorious nihon (I guess you could say "raped" but Japan will deny it), and you're destined towards a fate of building toys for America and praising mao no matter what your skills are.

Anyway back to Japanese music what are your guys thoughts on vocaloid? Normally I don't like it but I heard a Shoegaze album using Hatsune Miku samples and it was actually pretty good.
