1991: loveless, nevermind, spiderland & laughing stock

was this the best year in music history?
>>
>>61932527
A very fine year indeed.
>>
For pop music, maybe.
>>
>>61932527
it might have been if it wasn't for the fact that Laughing Stock is the only good album out of those four
>>
>>61932548
>pop
>>61932553
that's just a contrarian statement
>>
>>61932527
>only 4 """""great""""" albums
>the best year in music history
pfffffff
>>
>>61932548
What is pop about Spiderland
>>
>>61932569
>>61932653
It was a joke. 1968 was the best for pop.

The 90's are awful.
>>
>>61932527
yes or 1994:
Dummy, Grace, Blue Album,
or 1997:
Homogenic, OK Computer, FA∞
>>
>>61932661
are you actually autistic
>>
>>61932661
That doesn't answer the question.
You are not having a proper discussion with me.
>>
1967.
>TVU&N
>SPLHCB
>The Doors
>Surrealistic Pillow
>Goodbye and Hello
>John Wesley Harding
>Axis: Bold as Love
>MMT
>Pipers at Gates of Dawn
>Disraeli Gears
A lot more I can't be bothered listing
>>
No. there have been alot of other great years. also counting just 4 albums and say "this year is the best" is really disproportional imo.

Let me show you how the same can be done even better for some other years:

2000:
Kid A, LYSF, Flood, STVSTG, Since I Left You, And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out

1997:
Ok Computer, F#A# Infinity, Homogenic, City, Ocean Machine, Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space ,Substrata

1994:
Grace, The Downward Spiral, I could live in hope, Hex, Parklife, Lifeforms , + a bunch of black metal classics

BTW. 1991 also had The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld and White Light Through The Mouth Of Infinity, anon. both of them are much better than Nevermind.
>>
2013 unironically

>>61932653
>>61932569
he's right though, if you include art music, "music history" has had supremely better years

>>
1986:

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
New Order - Brotherhood
Legião Urbana - Dois
Paul Simon - Graceland
Depeche Mode - Black Celebration
>>
Claiming your fave year is so trivial and retarded, especially if you weren't there.

>>
>>61932708
67 is excellent. That's usually what I say. I've been listening to Piper at the Gates constantly.
>>
the early and mid 60s were the best cuz joe meek and phil spector
>>
>>61932527
good stuff.
>>61932745
also fucking good stuff.
>>
1959

Art Blakey - Moanin, Jimmy Smith - The Sermon, Ornette Coleman - The Shape of Jazz to Come, Charles Mingus - Mingus Ah Um, Lou Donaldson - Blues Walk, Sun Ra - Jazz in Silhouette and or course Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
>>
>>61932527
>nevermind
is terrible
>Spiderland & Laughing Stock
are profoundly overrated.

Strangeitude and Tamper are incomparably better releases from the same year, and 1992 had about 8 great albums released on it.
