Haruomi Hosono with Friends Of Earth - S∙F∙X (1984) [FLAC]
>"World Famous Technopop", funk, plunderphonics, hip-hop, ambient
>with the death of Alfa label owner, Kunihiko Murai, followed by the demise of YEN Records, Hosono started his new labels, Non-Standard for synthpop and Monad for ambient, as well as a new supporting act "F.O.E." as heard here
>his most bizarre and last notable synthpop record after "Philharmony" as it takes samples "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and adds a fascination with cosmos and outer space split into two sides: the first half being synthpop and the other being experimental compositions and an ambient track
>1996 reissue

Haruomi Hosono - The Endless Talking (1985) [FLAC]
>leftfield, plunderphonics, psuedo-minimalism
>a Monad release, a collection of compositions by Hosono that was premiered at an Italian architectural and interior design exhibition, “Japan Avantgarde of the Future”
>constantly repeating samples of found sounds, including an excerpt of Karol Szymanowski, including studio effects that were experimented with on "Philharmony"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPUHA0V1DUs
If anyone knows the name of the Karol Szymanowski, I would be interested to know. If you enjoyed the tracks of "Birthday Party" and "Air Condition" from "Philharmony", you will enjoy this album.
Haruomi Hosono - Mercuric Dance (1985) [FLAC]
>new age, ambient
>a collection of pieces commissioned for dance in collaboration with Far East Family Band percussionist Yujin Harada

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRBE_kvVBBY

I think this is his best ambient work when you appreciate how all the pieces connect with each other through a certain rhythmic or melodic motif.
Cassiano - Imagem e Som (1971) [FLAC]
>Latin soul with lush chords (but too much present imho) as some Tamla release (Stevie Wonder, etc.)

Marc Barreca - Twilight [320] (1980)
>ambient, industrial
>Marc Barreca was a musician part of the Northwest, Eno-inspired school that combined the acoustic and digital, using found sounds and prepared guitar portraying natural and industrial landscapes

You hear of new age/ambient albums that are "transportive". This is actually one of them with haunting pieces contrasting nature vs. machine possibly making this album an unspoken environmental protest: see "Commerce and Industry", are those howling sounds meant to be us?
>>63329517
>Paradise View is pretty great too (sometimes it sounds vaporware-ish)

no no, you didn't really screw anything up at all, there are other people that share folders rather than zips and it doesn't matter anymore since you can download folders as zips anymore, just a few months ago there was this guy that posted obscure compilations and /mu/core albums but replaced the second half of each album with 70s easy listening/jazz music as some sort of lame troll and a hallmark of each of his shares were that they folders rather than zips, thought he had come back, lol.

Free State Music - Season of Violence (1990)
>plunderphonics, martial industrial, electronic
>An obscure anti-apartheid South African plunderphonics album w orchestral backing created as a collaboration between Warrick Sony (a white guy who escaped military conscription by changing his name in his early 20s and started making experimental anti-government post-punk under the name Kalahari Surfers) and some other guy who presumably did the orchestral parts who I don't know much about
>contains speech samples from apartheid politicans, TV shows, white supremacists, fundamentalist preachers, etc
>genuinely forboding and scary in places if rather repetitive

I'm also interested in this.
Sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z44ncWt1AnY [
I collect albums released the year 1985 so this caught my interest. Wikipedia says that it was released in 1986, but artist homepage says that it's a "Reissue of Tomokawa’s ’85 masterpiece on CD! Lyrical screaming vocal with band sound", meaning that it could have been originally released in 1985.
It looks very interesting. The youtube description says that the sample is "a song about Tomokawa's younger brother who committed suicide by throwing himself under a train". It further elaborates that Kazuki, citizen's name Tenji Nozoki [及位典司], made the sample song - "Pitiful beauty" - an elegy for his youngest brother, the poet Satoru Nozoki who died young. And Wikipedia says about the musician that "He is often described as a 'screaming philosopher' due to his idiosyncratic singing style". Oh, and Discogs categorizes it as Rock music in the style of "Folk Rock".
If anyone has a copy and you find this note in the archive, please look me up on last.fm/user/celer2008

>they're music rations in case global war begins and the internet is shut down.
Haha, lol. Same for me. I wish for there to be old music in the future, which is sometimes new music for the now. Plus, I like listening to music I haven't heard before, all the time. I think it might be neurogenerative. Taxi drivers and school teachers grow and hold on to much more of new neurons the hypothalamus produces during a day because they have to learn new information, new places, new courses, constantly. I imagine I can make a musical map of my life in my mind, so that when I go and listen to memorable music from a particular month of the year, I may better remember what I was experiencing, feeling, and living through at the time. My "favourite tracks" folder is a personal melochronicle.

>Did you even try?
I didn't. I just looked up the tags the artist has self-labeled on bandcamp:
>tags: metal ambient metal atmospheric metal black ambient black metal blackend ambient dustwulf experimental metal ulvryk California
And I thought that "Ad Infernum" sounds indeed like an ambient track that has metal in it the same way that vaporwave and other such neogenres contain trace elements of their retromaterial.
But then again I also agree with this guy:

Who says that he "could not find any black metal" in Whourkr's "4247 Snare Drums". These new albums don't sound anything like your regular boring old black metal. They're probably just creative electronic music artists with metal influences who would probably like for people with more edgy and experimental tastes to listen to them. Which is a good thing, I think. I especially agree with the following:
>any real black metal infused with sick breaks would be appreciated though
Yes. Yes they would.

Lots of good shit, but I could use Burzum - Det som engang var (1993). Links are all dead :(
Anyone know what happens when one of your MEGA links gets taken down? Seems like my account is still active, the folder is missing, and I haven't been penalized.

These guys recently announced they were breaking up, albums pretty good so check it out
I'm requesting some french pop, something like Blondie but in french. was just listening to 'Sunday Girl' in french and it was very nice

>third stream
it's a really vague thing imho (and Moondog is really unique) that I have never really paid attention...
so idk
try these albums mixing jazz & classical in a weird way:
old exotica stuff:
>eden ahbez - Eden's Island
>Robert Drasnin - Voodoo albums
>Michel Magne - tropical Fantasy
or
>Penguin Magic Orchestra's 1st album
>or Pascal Comelade early stuff (it's more 'post minimalism' tho)
>solo album from Paddy MacAloon
>Garrett List - Your Own Self
(= some of the shit I have uploaded these past months :P)

woah thanks man! what I like the most is the use of instruments like bass clarinet, basoons, etc. which are relatively common in this genre.

Found his album on bandcamp because I sometimes download all free download releases put out in a couple of days. I listen to a lot of random shit, but his shit I liked. Found out that he's a regular here on archive. I'm not him. I'm the only anon in this thread who has posted his last.fm

Why does it sound super gay? Like, "Gayniggers from Outer Space" (1992) level gay.
