sounds like aimless fucking about to me, the sort of which bandcamp and soundcloud are overflowing with
it leaves no impression whatsoever, sounding like an approximation of noise made by someone who's got no real connection to it and no understanding of noise's potential for conceptual and emotional depth and refinement, not even any understanding of the most immediately recognizable and blatant element of visceral and/or cathartic experiences noise can provide

what is the purpose of this recording? what is it meant to convey and communicate? why have you decided to use these specific sonic elements and sounds? how long did it take you to make this?

it's just there
the only thing that can be said about it is that it exists

do you even listen to noise?

new album, would appreciate it if i could get some critique on untitled 4 p1 & 2, its the first ambient/noise track i've released
>>
>>61910771
I get strange feeling that I remember you. Anyway, brushwood name and untitled 1. Starting with anal holocaust nice, I like the chaos that unravels at first and the fact that two different things play at the same time in both speakers. It sound very full, I can hear that entire spectrum is covered. It sounds like a blizzard with a bits of lost radio signal in some places. It wears off quickly, I need some change on 1:30. A break, to be honest no change in intensity for long periods of time is a bad thing. You don't leave any time to rest. Okay, it came. Change of texture right in the spot where previous one was exhausted completely. I dig that metallic sound, that pseudo-screams are also very nice. Again by 4:00, there is strong need for a break, but actual break not a fake one like in 1:30. I noticed that this shit is also very riddim based, Not stable riddim, but the way textures jump from one another. Shit is layered. But to be honest I've gotten bored by 5th minute. At the other hand that non-stop full sound has advantages. I am kinda zoned out now. Like I am watching a movie or something. Also disappointed that it ends so abrupt.

>>61911877
I can take care of bumping for the next five hours friend. Maybe more. Going to work in a few hours.

Not that we blog here but for discussion, last night was a whole slew of THE RITA, POWER MONSTER, and Masturbatory Disfunction. I'm a heavy THE RITA fan and now enjoying the latter two. In tandem with that, my media leanings (I don't want to call noise music anymore so taking a que from DJ Sprinkles, it's media) have been towards turn of the millennium laptop aesthetic. Always been a heavy John Wiese fan (my first noise show x0x) and over the past few months really getting into Russell Haswell. Anyone else have any off the beaten path laptop noise? I know MERZBOW'S laptop work very well and VENTA PROTESIX.

If I ever find out the name of the dude who opened for Wiese back in Philly 2012 I will buy all his material.

Here have a share from one of my favorites:
>DETERGE - Accrete To Me

thanks that was a really detailed critique. i do feel like i need to have more variety though and i tried to get that with untitled 2 and untitled 4 p 1 and 2. I just started using ableton at the beginning of December and am just now starting to dabble in "non-harsh" noise.
>>
>>61912211
I'd be willing to put mediafire in the pb, the only thing that deterred it to me using it is the size limits. But if that's your thing, go wild mane.

It's just the ellipses and the partial nature that turns me off. As far as ideas, my taste is for more blunt, less "poetic", like that title seems with its connection with the song title template. First idea that comes to mind is a nice and simple "Hometown".

>>
>>61923739
Thing about high contrast in noise covers is that it's more fitting for simpler, more industrial subjects that, I guess "fit" well with that atmosphere. Your rendition doesn't look bad, but I think it's more appropriate with how he had it before. The original photo to me looks better with what the photo's atmosphere conveys. It's difficult to explain this, it's just something I've caught on to understanding from paying attention to the aesthetics of industrial and noise imagery and design in general.

>>61923803
I'd shift the text to the left a bit more, maybe have it a fourth of an inch from the right edge. If you're using Photoshop, also maybe adjust the spacing between each letter so it's more uniform.

>Why do people enjoy it?
There are a lot of reasons people like noise. Some people enjoy the aggression of it and may find a catharsis through listening to it. Many of these fans found noise through metal, punk, or noise rock. Some people just enjoy the texture of the sounds. This is the same kind of enjoyment that jazz fans get from the timbre of a saxophone or rock fans get from the timbre of a guitar. In the case of noise that enjoyment is taken to the extreme and most other aspects of the music such as rhythm and melody are stripped away to have a pure exploration of timbre and texture. Some people also enjoy enjoy the conceptual nature of some noise projects. For example may of Dominick Fernow's projects are instrumental noise and industrial techno given context by descriptive song titles and creative artwork. This kind of multimedia aesthetic unity is something that is common in noise and is something many people look for in a quality noise project. Of course people can like it for more than one reason as well as other reasons I didn't list just like every other genre.

I wonder when the guy with the A Birds Eye View-release will upload the first two tapes. Hope he's not dead or something.

svn-okklt is a pretty awesome blog bump

How the fuck do I contact Maurizio Bianchi the hermit that he is? I've tried labels that have released him but I'm getting the silent treatment.
>>
>>61937966
What do you want from him?
>>
>>61938007
To interview him.
>>
>>61938063
Well, good luck but as you already mentioned, he'll probably decline or simply ignore the request. Did you already ask the label Steinklang? Maybe they have a connection.
>>
>>61938110
Thanks, yeah I've sent em a message, and a few other that have been putting out his stuff last year. I could try his recent collaborators though as labels tend to be swamped.
>>
>>61938227
Also tried Urashima? And maybe he still has contact with the guys from Whitehouse.
>>
I need noise help. I'm looking for shit that I would also like. Here's my chart of noise albums I like https://rateyourmusic.com/list/EveryoneDies/everyonedies_favorite_noise_power_electronics_death_industrial/

I remember seeing this list. Nice picks, are you looking for something in particular (genre, lyrics, etc.)?

sounds like aimless fucking about to me, the sort of which bandcamp and soundcloud are overflowing with
it leaves no impression whatsoever, sounding like an approximation of noise made by someone who's got no real connection to it and no understanding of noise's potential for conceptual and emotional depth and refinement, not even any understanding of the most immediately recognizable and blatant element of visceral and/or cathartic experiences noise can provide

what is the purpose of this recording? what is it meant to convey and communicate? why have you decided to use these specific sonic elements and sounds? how long did it take you to make this?

it's just there
the only thing that can be said about it is that it exists

do you even listen to noise?

stop doing that

so do you guys have any advice on making noise? wall noise is fun to make but i wan ot try making stuff like merzbow. been playing with mixer feedback and its difficult to get dense abrasive sounds with just a mixer but ill play with it more

So my favorite "noise" seems to be power electronics, specifically the likes of Haus Arafna and Genocide Organ, anyone have any recs beyond basic bitch stuff but that are still in a similar vein?

Prurient - Frozen Niagara Falls
literally the most spoken of noise release of last year...

i love it but i've already heard it. good suggestion anyway, thanks. anything else possibly?

maybe something by Yellow Swans
>>

if you haven't heard the rest of prurient's recent output go through that, time's arrow is similar
aube - sigh in depressive blue is sorta melodic at points
yellow swans obviously
i am a lake of burning orchids and all his side projects of which laurel noose is the only one I know the name of
>>
>>61952662
Pedestrian Deposit, it's a noise duo with electronics and cello. Maybe not the kind of melodies you're looking for, but still awesome.
>>
I know this is the noise general but do you guys have favorite noise rock bands that are more on the noise side?
>>
>>61952833
honestly other than weird not-quite-noise-rock stuff like ramleh or yellow swans I can't stand any of the noise rock I've heard.

unfortunately I also get out-of-memory-errors for most of these links. maybe try zippyshare?
